Love this restaurant, especially because they are open all hours - very handy when you are jetlagged and want breakfast at 4pm or dessert at 11pm. Try the amazing hazelnut bread pudding if they have it, and their brunch set menu is fantastic value. Also love that you can both wine and tea at pretty much any hour - great if you are not in the mood for the same thing as your dining companion. Tables outside are lovely, staff pleasant and accommodating and the food very good. I've never been to their jazz evenings but hear the are good. A neighbourhood classic!

Nice cafe, food was good, service was ok, ambiance was nice and quaint. We had wine flights which is always good but I wasn't crazy about the food portions for the price. I had the burger with blue cheese which was good, the burger must have been a quarter pound and the bun was like an english muffin. I may or may not return.

Took the dog to the city to meet my brother for brunch. This place was perfect! We got a nice table right away and they welcomed the dog and brought him his water bowl. Brunch was great.... I had the eggs benedict and my brother had the huevos rancheros. Good Bloody Mary's too!

Love coming here for jazz. They always have a few good taps (4 i think), the food is pretty good, not great, but I barely notice because I come for the shows. Wine and cocktails are the specialty.
The basement, where the shows are, is long and narrow, one of the smallest jazz venues, and they don't let you down before the show is about to start. Reservations are recommended thu-sat.
The bustling service downstairs is inattentive at best, and the iPad entry system slows them down to the point where you want to say, "here's a pen just write it down ". There's a lot of over-worked-sassy-gay attitude (which is definitely a thing), such that you know if you gripe about the missing detail in your order ("I said twist NO cherry") it may end up in your face. Not that it's ever happened to me.
I do love this place.

This place feels like it's been here since the beginning of time. It's comfy and a perfectly decent standby. Food is good but not mind blowing. Friendly, laid back service and ambience with outdoor sidewalk seating.
