One of my favorite spots to eat in New York. The food is bold and interesting. This is a sleeper of a spot so it's usually not hard to walk in. I loved the confit turkey wings and the beef cheeks. The rice crepe is also delish. I have to say the staff is also lovely. Go eat here!

We came here for dinner over a bachelorette weekend celebration. We arrived on time, but our table wasn't ready because they had table dining for much longer than they expected. This has a small dining room, so its understandable that they only had so many options for seating my group of 8. The owner more than made up for it by chomping us a bottle of champagne and a few rounds of Brussels sprouts sides when we did get seated.
Everything on the menu is made for sharing and we ended up ordering 3-4 dishes per pair. This was my first French-Vietnamese fusion meal and I can say I'm a fan. Everything was so tasty and beautifully plated. My favorite was the crispy mortadella which had a goat cheese and edible flower pairing.
I would definitely come back for another meal to try out the dished my group didn't get to.

I've had my fair share of French food and I've had my fair share of Vietnamese food. Heck, I've even had multiple meals cooked by Vietnamese-French relatives in Paris, but I've never had food like this. Rouge et Blanc is so strange and so wonderful; I don't know if I can call it French, Vietnamese, or French-Vietnamese, but it sure was tasty and that's all that matters.

The restaurant is very colonial. It's what I would imagine the house of a French official living in Southeast Asia or even India to be like. Everything follows the theme from the staff's French accent to the French-translated "All employees must wash their hands before returning to work" sign in the restroom. Lighting is dim and the atmosphere, quiet, making this place suitable for an intimate dinner among friends or lovers.

The menu comprises of small plates, with a suggestion of 2-3 plates per person. I went with 2 others and we got the Fried Brussel Sprouts, Crispy Broccoli and Kale, Confit Charred Octopus, the Poisson du Jour (smoked salmon under a bed of greens with a poached duck egg and salmon roe on top), and the Hanoi Fried Chicken.

OMG the Fried Brussel Sprouts. They came in a Korean Chili Vinaigrette topped with Corn Nuts. That dish blew everyone away. The Corn Nuts, as weird as it sounds, provided the perfect crunch. And that chili vinaigrette was perfect.

All the other dishes paled in comparison. In fact, if it wasn't for the brussel sprouts, I would probably give this place a 3.
