Vera Wang Bride

This is an exquisitely beautiful salon that sells elegant gowns and accessories. The service is very thorough but come on, don't come in if you are just "browsing" these people earn their paychecks on commission, I don't understand why some idiots don't understand that and then complain about "snotty service". Get over yourself.

I was beyond disappointed after my trip to this salon. I had been looking forward so so very much to my trip to New York to try on the most beautiful, unique wedding gowns ever created and my consultant was awful and completely unhelpful. I can't believe anyone, no matter how rich and famous they are, should allow their customers to be treated so rudely. They wouldn't agree to any alterations. All I wanted was a straight across neckline modified to a sweetheart, and it was like I was insulting Vera's design. I was told "Vera won't want to make it that way" and dismissed. When I made it clear that it was a sticking point for me (the neckline was really really unflattering the way it was) I very sadly walked out; I am not paying $7,000 for a dress that's not exactly the way I want it! I knew how expensive these gowns were going to be, I was prepared, but how can you refuse to work with your clients? The worst part was that I kept getting e-mails from my consultant about whether or not I wanted to buy the dress and I kept telling her no because it wasn't going to be the way I wanted it but she didn't get the hint. She was rude and at the same time wouldn't stop trying to get me to buy the dress... Really?? How do you expect to make money like that?! Also best of luck trying to get a dress to fit you if you are above a size 6. DO NOT write off Vera Wang gowns, but do not go to this flagship store. And arrange to get alterations somewhere else (I recently saw the dress I wanted with the neckline I wanted... obviously she did not get her gown at the NY store...)

When a bride thinks of her wedding dress, a few designers come to mind- especially Vera Wang. I loved the experience of trying on dresses at Vera Wang, but I could have done without the catty ill-tempered assistant I was paired with. With a sour disposition and bad attitude she was very uninterested in providing an experience that would compel me to drop over $5k on my gown. I decided even if I were to go with a Vera Wang dress I would acquire it through another source to avoid granting commission to their middle-school minded staff.

The service at the salon was very disappointing. I have shopped at other bridal salons, one of which even sells Vera's dresses, and there is no comparison.

The staff kept me waiting for my appointment (unapologetically), and cut off my appointment abruptly 15 minutes before it was over. The gowns are gorgeous, but I can't tell you how cold and rude the staff was.

Another note - most of the gowns don't fit petite women well, so a warning to you shorties. Some of them can be altered to do so, but the saleswoman warned me that about 75% of the dresses in which I was interested could not be changed to accommadate someone who is below average in height or short waisted.

Ladies, I am not tell you to not get a Vera dress - but if you do, go get it elsewhere. I wanted to cry after my visit, and that is not how a bride to be should feel.

The Vera Wang Bridal house in Ny was so wonderful. Ask for Lori Santo the Senior Sales Consultant she was so wonderful. They all treated us respectfully and did not judge us at all. The last bridal salon my mother and I went to was terrible. The judged us because I was in jeans and that is not fair. These girls were so nice we got stuck in trafic and they were so cool about it not snooty at all. Thank you Lori for the wonderful experiance. She made me love the dresses that much more. If I decide to buy a Vera Wang I will buy it there!!
