The Bowery Hotel

I work for a non-profit college and needed to cancel a non-refundable reservation for a guest that wished to make their own booking. The management listened to my problem and agreed to cancel the reservation, even though they didn't have to. I am truly grateful and will be making future reservations there.

Have never felt more comfortable in an NYC hotel - rooms were big and service was excellent. Room service is also full access to the restaurant Gemma which was delicious.

. First of all I must say that the staff is very very kind and helpful ! BUT ......
I have read a lot about The Bowery in several magasines and it was described as an iconic place with a lot of atmosphere. To me The Bowery looked (at pictures) a bit like Hotel Costes /Bourg Tibourg in Paris - both hotels that I simply adore. So I was really looking forward to stay with you !

The Bowery was such a disappointment ! - sorry to say - The interior is charming and I am aware that the style is "old, shabby and faded" on purpose - that's what I like in fact - but I do NOT like, that the interior, especially at the patio is dirty, filled with dark spots, the glas roof is broken so that dirty water drops into my drink ! and the floor is wet.(dirty black water). The PLASTIC palms in the bar were dusty and the rest room (women) was a mess and dirty too - the cushions in the sofas were dirty and one of the armchairs was broken - that is NOT what I expect when I check in at a 4/5 stars pricy hotel.

I cannot recommend The Bowery and I will not be back.
