Do not patronize this store.

Even though the store is usually empty, the owners felt the need to expand the store. That expansion is causing the eviction of Rebel Rebel Records next door, a neighborhood institution for over 25 years.

Thanks, Scotch and Soda, for helping kill off what makes (made) the village an interesting place.

I agree with the other reviewers here by giving this establishment one star! Just so we are clear here, one star means 'Hated It'.

Promptly after entering this quaint shop on a corner of Bleeker St., I felt like I was on the set of 'Mean Girls', or 'Empire' and Miss Cookie was in the House!

There are three fairly young men working in this tiny shop, which seems a bit much from the start. I guess the owners in Amsterdam have deep pockets? Because I don't know their names, I'll call these men #1, #2, and #3. -- #3 greeted me pleasantly enough, so I thought things were off to a good start.

Seemingly out of nowhere, #1 guy appears with a high-level of importance and begins zig-zagging around the shop like HE OWNS it. I better move, so I dart away from him. In a queenly & falsely sweet voice, #1 guy LOUDLY berates nice guy #3 about his folding skills. #1 must be running the show, and further snaps that he wants the folding done " Without Fail ". Really?? It seems to me that this conversation should be held in private, and not in front of customers. I became agitated and I definitely made a scowl towards him, but I continued to browse the store.

I picked up a sweater to try on and noticed one of the two fitting rooms was occupied--how can you not, the store is the size of three shoe boxes! When I said the other fitting room did not have a mirror, I was told by #2 guy, with yet ANOTHER snippy attitude, that the fitting room with a mirror was occupied and he offers to hold the sweater for me. By now I'm very bothered, so I gave him the sweater and snapped back: "I can see that! I will wait". Upon saying this, #1 guy throws me a quick disgusted face and does a heel turn away from me like he thought he was being sneaky. I might be in my 40's, but I saw that!

By now, I feel like I just need to remove myself and not spend any money with these two fools. I announce that I am leaving, and #1 smartly snaps something to me about my not wanting to try on the sweater. Yeah, sure, I am going to take this abuse AND buy something!

Now I am outside the shop looking in, and I am GLARING at #1 through the window, and he has the gall to throw me yet another sneer. Did this just happen AGAIN?? So I walk to the door, and open it enough to put my head in. #1 approaches me with much petulance, and I said I would follow up with the store owner about his expressions and attitude. In a feigned incredulous voice, he says something about being sorry that I was offended, and that he was only treating me the way I treated him. Now we're in 3rd Grade!? I said I felt a bad attitude coming from him as soon as I saw him in the store.

I turned away and closed the door. #1 had the additional gall to open the door and offered to bring me a business card so that I could call the owners. It really seemed like he was daring me to report this. I said "Just Stop Now, Just Stop", yet he continued to verbally dress me down in the street.

I finally hopped into a shop across the street to avoid possibly popping this guy in the mouth!

Wow! Just wow!! Never again!
