Wife and I shared the rib steak. The quality of the beef was great, as expected from a highly recommended restaurant. But I did not expect the great flavor without the high salting as other steak restaurants do. Here you can really taste the natural savoriness (umami). So, keep your hand off the salt shaker for two or three bites and really taste the beef with or without the house steak sauce. Recommend the house Cabernet (wine), shrimp cocktail (huge shrimp), and the Cesar salad that adds another layer of "Oh Yeah!"to the steak.

Okay call me crazy but this place is a bit hyped. The steak is in fact the best steak in the world but there's really nothing more than that.
1- CASH OR DEBIT ONLY
2- BEST STEAK EVER- but you have no choice in the cut of steak.
3- no specialty drink menu
4- no real apps. We got the tomato and onion-that's literally what it is. No sauce, no seasoning
Just a lonely tomato and a fat onion chillen on your plate.
5- the bacon was great-I used the fat juices to jazz up my broccoli
If you're looking for just steak come here. It truly is the best.
If your looking to be wowed by a menu go to Cristo's in astoria. Now that's amazing.

Maybe the most tasty steak I will ever eat. Peter Luger Steaks is a craft using only USDA prime beef which is less than 2% graded beef cattle. I enjoyed several different menu items as well as a juicy burger which was also delicious. My favorite sides were the German Potatos & Cream Spinach. I also ordered a red wine and had a pie for dessert. This place lives up to it's hype and is worth every dollar. The waiters here are among the absolute best, so prepared to be spoiled with elligance. It is a must reserve reservation to dine. Peter Luger Steakhouse only takes cash so hit up an atm before you come to enjoy your experience.

2nd time here, this time celebrating my brother's birthday. Skip the apps, limit the sides, and get the steak for two. Good old fashioned service, the gents were so sweet to my 3 yr old. Steak was of course cooked to perfection. I had to get some slices of bacon, so I essentially had meat with a side of meat, yum! Wonderful place for special occasions. Book ahead to avoid the long wait!

With that amount of reviews, they must be the best in New York. I am not sure about that, since I had better steaks, but they are definitely make great steaks. The waitress are kind of rude, and they serve you the food without even looking at you. This is not the service you would expect from a restaurant like that. Luckily the steaks were worth it.
Pay attention: They do not accept CC. Bring cash or debit.
