I came here to party but there was no party. So I just got supplies to create my own party.

The Party City in New Hyde Park may have “Nice” things to purchase, but their employers should seek into hiring “Nice” people to work for them. I was excited to head to party city to gather up some plastic goods for a Father’s Day event I was having at my home, for my ENTIRE family. I was extremely eager to get some “pretty” items to decorate my table for that day. Once I walked into the store, I asked the manager, Jane, if she could be so kind to help me find some plastic plates that were pretty? Jane’s response shocked me: “ Do we have pretty plates? Do we have pretty plates, does it look like we have pretty plates?” She literally mocked me as she had other employees laughing at her production of a drama show. When I said to her “ You do not have to speak to me that way , I am just asking a simple question, no reason to make fun of me…” To my surprise not only did she continue mimicking me and making it seem like my question was the most outlandish request she had ever received, Jane voiced her outrage throughout the store. By Jane’s reaction to my simple request for help, you would have thought I asked her to take every plate off the shelf, open each package and then ask her if I could eat off of each individual plate. I am unsure why anyone would think this woman is a good fit for their store, let alone a manager. The cashier ,Janine, explained that her manager’s poor conduct was not a first time occurrence, apparently Jane has treated other customers this way as well. I had much higher expectations for a chain store and am beyond appalled by the representation Party City has working for them. I will admit the only thing I could have possible done wrong, was feel so bad and upset about my unpleasant visit to party city. Unfortunately you cannot control when your feelings are hurt. This experience has had me very upset for the past few days. This so called manager was beyond rude and her behavior is inexcusable. To say the least, an apology from Party City is the most necessary action they should take right now. If I could rate this New Hyde Park City’s customer service on a scale from 1-10. They would receive a negative score in my books.
