absolutely horrible! my stylist was late and i was infomed 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment. although they rescheduled it and gave me a free service. the stylist Nicole (who claimed that she does different textures of hair) does not know how to do black people hair.. so if you're black don't go here because you will leave with your hair as a bush! Nicole you did a HORRIBLE job! thank GOD it was free because i definitely would not have been paying you for what you did!

This place does not cater to "the people"!

I got a blowout, my eyebrows waxed, and my makeup done for a wedding. The hair looked great. If I were just rating the blowout I would give them 4 or 5 stars, but the makeup was horrible. I asked for Adele (and provided multiple pictures) but ended up with Amy (Winehouse). Instead of a precise winged eye I ended up with uneven, thick liner that curled way out at the ends. The shadow wasn't blended. The mascara was cheap and flaked all over. The lashes were applied to the lid instead of the lashline, weren't trimmed to fit properly, and came off within 20 minutes of application. I asked the artist to tight line my water line and she didn't know what I was talking about. Eyebrows were filled in way too dark- almost black-and I have blonde hair. Lipstick looked like a clown- uneven, no liner used. It was embarrassing. I had to remove and fix most of it (I would have completely re-done it, but I didn't have time). With so many great places to get makeup done in Montclair (Bobbi Brown, Blue Mercury, Bangz, etc.) I definitely will not get my makeup done at Moxie again. Just not worth it and very disappointing. I will go back for blowouts or waxing, depending on how their management responds when I speak to them about this experience. (I'll also post updates here). The staff was polite, but I hope they will invest in better training and products for their makeup services.
