This place has a unique flavor selection. I was impressed and I like the options, but I have to dock stars for customer service and portion size. After reading responses from the owner on the negative reviews before me, the lack of customer service makes sense. The owner appears to think she's always right --- this should not (always) be the case. Accommodate your customers and make them want to come return. Torico and Downtown Yogurt are nearby with impeccable customer service. Jersey City is a very competitive place for business - please consider this.

This place is overpriced, the ice cream not consistent. They buy their ice cream and cones from Brooklyn businesses, so making it fresh (other than freezing it, basically a cake mix) in JC in an outright lie. Not even NJ companies are used. Since I was banned from the FB page for pointing that out, I now leave my 100% accurate review here. Thank you, Google!

The $.050 surcharge for under $10 seems to be at the whim of whoever is working. Be consistent with your pricing and procedures.

The service is terrible (Im standing right in front of you and you go for the next person who is your "friend", calling someone from the back to help me? RUDE). So many other places for cold treats, go anywhere else.

It also seems the business owner can't take critique, or adjust accordingly to her clientele, shown through the responses given to every single review. Work to make your business better, and get off the internet.

I love this ice cream shop! First time I've ever written a review but felt I needed to after reading some of the ridiculous complaints in the one star reviews. You have to pay for quality and that's exactly what you get. The flavors are fantastic and original. Sour cream blueberry is probably my favorite, but everything is delicious. The customer service is fantastic as well. You are always hit with a friendly greeting as soon as you walk in the door. I can't imagine people not liking it here, but that just leaves more ice cream for me!

I rarely leave bad reviews because I don't think one experience should impact a business but I really was appalled on the lack of customer service for about 2 months. I'm a JC resident and was hoping to help support a local business by hiring them for several upcoming events (personal and professional) but my calls were unanswered and my emails were ignored for weeks until the week before the event. (My colleague had told me she had a similar experience and found bucket and bay to be great and they pulled off a great event.) I was open to any variety of ice cream treats for my party of 45 but instead was told everything I wanted couldn't be done with no suggestions on what could be. Emma then asked if I'd like to cancel my order request when I sent an email requesting a cake with an upside ice cream cone, including if this couldn't be done then please let me know what could. Nothing could be done. Really? It was clear this company is not interested in getting clients for events (at least ones "under 100 people") and referred me to torico for my ice cream order. I'm in shock with the lack of service and tarnished my view on a company I had really liked. Luckily torico was super friendly, responsive and worked with me to recommend some great desserts for my event and is making the relatively "simple cake" for my event tomorrow. I will be using torico and bucket and bay for all my future events. Customer service should always be number one.

This is the third and LAST time I ever come here. As a third time client presenting their debit card for $9.50 and being adamantly told we can't take it for less than $10 and being suggested to buy a cookie or topping, and my answer is no thank you. I want to pay for what I buy. Then the very nice girl behind the counter went to ask the 'owner' , comes back and says we will do it this time: one time only. I say ok thanks. Then she says for 50cent to make it $10. I say no thank you. They say then we can't charge you I say well I'm already 80% through my ice cream. Long long story short after the third time of this nice girl going back to the boss and the boss being inches away from us and having no strength in herself to communicate with a client who spends WELL OVER $10 the past two times they have come in, this time bringing other friends: well let's say this is terrible terrible customer service and you have not just lost me. But the 5 friends I have brought here.

As a business owner myself I have paid for shipping many many times for my clients. This is not to say I will waive my shipping policy for everyone but to make a client happy and retain clients for 50cent, I will certainly do that. I understand margins but I also understand customer service and retention

Now to add insult to injury the owner comes out, no introduction, she started speaking loudly into the air and not to me; "it's not her policy it's mine". Then walks away. Not once addressing me in a manner which is appropriate. Maybe a bit of business manners and ethics?!

Finally I ask for a cup of water after the sweet ice cream. And not to give your clients water after they have spent $25 [1st and second time there] and tell them they will only give water if a client brigs their own cup otherwise you are asked to buy water.

Never ever again. This isn't ma and pa home grown mentality this is nickel and dim'ing your clients does not create customer loyalty.

Terrible horrible experience.

Ps. This isn't a 'sign dollar' price point. Rather high prices.
