Luciano's Italian Restaurant

Went there for New Year's Eve. $99 for a 5 course dinner. The food was OK (definitely not worth the money, but it didn't make us sick). The service was noticeably terrible (we weren't the only ones getting upset). We waited about 20 minutes to order our drinks. 30 minutes to order. 40 minutes for bread. 1 hour for the first course (which was essentially a hot pocket). The meal was just too little over too long (all 5 courses over 3 hours) riddled with stupid mistakes. The restaurant ran out of steak knives (yeah), blaring music in the middle of the meal (I know it's NYE but save it for later), constantly empty water and drinks, and to top of off they had the balls to include the gratuity. Not that it was the staff's fault (management is to blame on this one) but definelty felt ripped off to get a $300 bill at the end of the night only to go home and and make oven pizza.

Nice atmosphere, courteous staff, and the food was very good. Overall, we had an exceptionally good dinner here for a fair price.

Luciano's has always been one of our favorite restaurants - we've been coming here for the last 6 years and, we loved it so much that we had our wedding here in June 2014. Chef Joseph, Josephine and the rest of the staff here as always been wonderful - the food, ambiance and service have always been excellent!

I went to Luciano's Restaurant in Rahway, last night with my wife for what I thought was going to be a romantic, great dinner experience. This was the WORST dinner experience I have had in 20 years. Don't ever go here ! We were seated on time at a table in need of clean up from the prior patrons. My bread dish had coffee stains (needed to ask to replace this). I had asked for a mixed drink with a piece of lime and they brought lemon. It took forever to get the 1st round of drinks, finally brought the 1st round drinks after the appetizers. When they finally brought one appetizer (mine) they completely forgot my wife's appetizer. Upon asking the waiter (for the drinks and my wife's appetizer, he said he was sorry and would put in this order, right away.
Ultimately, we wound up eating appetizers separately, clearly, not desirable. My wife ordered the veal and it came without any sauce & dry, next to a vegetable of shredder lettuce. When it came to dessert, they had one dessert left in the entire restaurant and the brownie was dried out. In short, this was a terrible experience for a dinner that cost in excess of $200. for 2 people. I highly recommend you stay clear of Luciano's Restaurant unless you enjoy being grossly disappointed.

Food was good but the service was very sloppy and rushed. DO NOT EAT HERE! I REPEAT DO NOT EAT HERE! A WASTE OF MONEY. Spend it at one of the quality restaurants in Westfield instead.
