Nothing special good was just OKAY... Especially for $50+ for breakfast for 2. Wait staff asks you if you want ketchup for your eggs, seriously?? Are we giving out coupons for Wal Mart also?! NOT classy... Also the hollandaise broke.

Les halles park avenue has been my families go to place since 1994. Service and food never failed to amaze me. I had mixed experiences downtown and last night was the worse and I won't be going back to this tourist trap. It was my nieces graduation dinner and we drove from Long Island for her favorite steak frites. It too 20 minutes to even get service. Table of 8 and everyone ordered steak, medium to medium rare. All the steaks came out Charred, practically burnt! When I complained they nicely agreed to pick up the check and asked us to pay for dessert. And when the bill came Jean 'misheard the manager' and it was the desserts that were comped not dinner. We totally got played. Disappointing special occasion dinner. This may fly with the tourists but they just lost a regular client. The les halles legacy died with park avenue and the legendary steak frites has ceased to exist. Sorry Anthony Bourdain! Les halles downtown must be avoided.

A very solid bet for mainstream French fare. Not too pricey, good portions. Service is fine, decor is a little dated but nice. Recommend it for a brunch with girlfriends or a date night for a long-term significant other. It's not overly impressive, but it is very good!

We went for lunch. We had the steak sandwich and the chicken sandwich. Both were very good. The steak sandwich was amazingly delicious. The fries were also delicious. The wait staff was generally quick and friendly. We were able to get in and out in under and hour, making it a very viable lunch spot.

Aw, come on...a TOTAL RIPOFF. Strictly for the tourists and clueless over from Jersey.
Back in the day, y'know when Mingus, Taylor, Parker, Coltrane, McLean played the dump, it was a mecca of sorts. Very cool would describe the place. These days it's strictly uncool and contaminated with imitative musicians, self-obsessive management, celebrity seeking audiences, and over the moon prices. Save your money. Don't make yourself a victim of New York thugs.
