We arrived to Kenka as a party of eight and one more person joined us afterwards. The staff demanded one person needed to leave as they were only expecting eight people. We asked politely for all of us to stay however they reacted in a rude and disrecpectful manner. If you would like to have a pleasant dinner experience avoid this restaurant because of their lack of customer service skills.

This is really unlike most NY bars. The food is dirty cheap ($5 for some dishes), and there are $1.5 beers. I actually spilled my sake, and the staff refilled it for me. I was very impressed.

Cheap and quick Japanese bar food. Provides pretty much what you would find in Japan. I highly recommend their deep fried foods and their traditional Izakaya style tapas. Drinks are the cheapest so you can get drunk cost effectively. Sake and shochu selection is very broad and also cheap. The place is themed based on the world war periods in Japan so decor is interesting to see. The place is very grungy, the seats are not so comfortable. Prepare a long wait on the weekends, this place is extremely popular.
