Hotel Indigo Newark Downtown

Really nice high rise hotel in downtown Newark NJ. It has stylish, yet smallish rooms. My room had a good view of Newark. All for a very decent price. Less than half the price of a Manhattan hotel, yet only 15-20 minutes away from NY Penn station.

Beautiful hotel and restaurant. Alva's servers were friendly and attentive, which made up for less than perfect training. Nothing crazy...they didn't feel that experienced. No complaints about the food. It was really quiet since there was only one other table (odd for a Friday at 12) but that was great for our going away party for an intern. I'd be happy to go back. Decentlm mix of prices on the menu.

Besides smelling marijuana smoke the entire time on our floor I was fairly satisfied at first. Until after a long 4 day stay my wife and I finally had time to enjoy the sky bar. However, the hotel rented it out for a birthday party of some sort. What transpired from the event on the sky bar essentially turned into a lot of disrespectful young adults running rampant through out the hotel, being loud, racially unsensitive and creating a ridiculous scene. Screaming between security and individuals in the lobby continued for what seemed like an hour. My wife and I could not even access an elevator unharrassed by non paying guests. Finally after police became involved the situation was resolved. The front desk seemed barely apologetic offering a cheap 40 dollar discount for the anarchy that they allowed in their hotel for hours. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay at another Indigo hotel.

Love this hotel the rooms have iPads for the guest to use while there. I held an event at the college and guest who came on to town loved the hotel. Will definitely use this hotel again. Very big bathrooms and contemporary furniture.

The room was lovely. A very differs feel from most hotels. The staff was helpful and polite. The only problem is the valet parking. The agreement was working very hard but when's there was a rush there was not enough staff to handle valet. My boyfriend called down to ask for our car and it took over 30 minutes to retrieve it. Had we known we would have called earlier and it wouldn't have been a problem. However, we were not informed how long it would take. We had an event to attend and were beginning to become concerned that we would not arrive on time due to the valet issue.

Outside of that one issue, the hotel was wonderful. The aesthetic of the rooms was very clean but comfortable..
