Helms Bros. in Bayside has become a home away from home. Since my last review, I have purchased and leased three vehicles. A GLK 350 for my father, a E350 for myself were purchased and a GLK350 was just leased for my wife. The vehicles are just that, vehicles... safe, dependable and above all, Mercedes-Benz! You know your family is safe on the road when all the distracted drivers out there are lurking, or when you are driving alone, tempting the speed limit on a clean stretch of freshly paved highway asphalt! Now, the dealership... the dealership is what counts when you make a purchase AND when you service your vehicle. I can whole heartedly say, without a doubt, that if it were not for the people that are there for me, I would not be taking the time to write this review. You hear it again and again; They treat you like family... blah, blah, blah... but I'm telling you.. they treat you like family!! From the minute you walk in, to the minute you drive off, to the minute you service your vehicle(s), to the minute you do it all over again! I have never, in my life, been treated so well. If you are in the market for a vehicle, do yourself a favor and go to Helms! I did it years ago and haven't given it a second thought since! Go see Mikey for sales, Carmine for service and tell them Pete the Greek sent you! See you down the road...

Thank you Maurice for helping out the whole process and accommodating my schedule. Maurice was very helpful in terms of picking out a car and pricing and most importantly he was very precise (honest). He was persuasive but not pressuring, unlike some sales rep, they tend to be pushy and impelling, which makes me uncomfortable; however i did not experience that with Maurice. It was a pleasure working with Maurice. I am a satisfied customer and will definitely send some referrals to him.

The only reaso i gave 2 stars is because the place is clean and looks nice. As soon as i walked in i was not greeted in anyway..i had to look for some one to speak with. They then sent me a salesman, now i cant blame the whole staff because of one person but my whole experience was ruined there. I started off by telling her i had some questions today and i was not sure of buying yet..as soon as she heared me say im not ready to purchase it sort of just turned off a switch for her..pretty common from a person making comission..she then went and gave me a brochure and walked me out the door..i mean who does that? Atleast give me a brief tour of the vehicle get me interested in the car. Anyway i then went off to another mercedes dealership to purchase an E-class because of this experience i had.

Mercedes dealerships have mixed reputations for honesty and integrity. While Helms is not spoken of badly, buying a car at Helms was at first a perplexing experience but turned out to be exactly as I wanted.
I visited Peter Fearon at Helms on 12/17/2014 to purchase an I.R.S. Code §179 deductible SUV, the 2015 GL350 Bluetec with a time-of-the-essence of 12/31/2014. He had the ideal model (Polar White) with a specific listing of features. He said he had the car in a storage location under the control of Helms Brothers and he told me to return on 12/19/2014 once he had that car delivered to the Helms dealership.
I returned to the dealership the evening of 12/19. He had me execute a purchase agreement (for a well below sticker price) that did not include the time-of-the-essence provision, but that listed all the specific features of that particular vehicle. His associate, Gregg Weiss, ran my credit report which came back 'approved'. However, simultaneously, another sales rep at Helms sold that specific car to another buyer. So I had a particularized purchase order, approved credit and no car.
Peter now had to locate an identical car and it took him more than one week to deliver the car. This one came new from a Boston dealership. The sale closed on 12/29/2014 as I had wanted. Hence, the dealership bent over backwards to provide to me a car I wanted and in the time I wanted. I could ask for nothing more and the car is spectacular.
Lastly, I chose Helms for this purchase because they have a world class parts department that helps me maintain decades old cars. That's why I list Paul Brzozowski who knows every part of every car as the reason I chose Helms for this purchase. Helms earned my business over many years.

We were in the market for a luxury car and had several in mind. We decided to stop in at Helms Brothers as we passed by with no particular expectation in mind. We were introduced to Andrea Kass who turned out to be the most professional, knowledgeable, non-irritating salesperson we have ever encountered! Andrea took her time, showed us several cars and answered our questions about the different models. We didn't make a commitment, but shopped at two other dealerships. One made an offer similar to Helms Brothers but we decided, because of our experience with Andrea, to purchase the car from her. From start to delivery she was there for us. We still find the 'bells and whistles' on the car somewhat overpowering but Andrea has offered to set aside time to review the features with us.
We couldn't ask for anything more. A truly class experience!
