I had the ABSOLUTE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE at Dallas BBQ Restaurant in Times Square, NYC. We (my sister-in-law and I) decided to take our husbands out to dinner for their birthdays. The guys love good barbecue and we thought that the name Dallas BBQ was a good choice. WE WERE WRONG!!
I ordered the shrimp and crab cake appetizer and 2 orders of the large spicy wings. The food came out to the table very quickly. I did not realize that it was because it was cold. Not room temperature, cold. The shrimp were just okay. The crab cakes resembled 4 large burnt bun grapes. They were disgusting and unusually small.
My brother-in-law does not eat pork and inquired about the origin of the ribs. The waitress assured him that they were beef. After one bite, he was able to identify that the ribs were pork. This was extremely disappointing. Especially since he asked her if she was sure before he placed his order. My sister-in-law ordered a house salad and an order of sticky wings to go.
After speaking with the waitress, and then the manager about the pork ribs, the manager immediately became defensive and irate. He raised his voice at us and behaved really ignorant. He did not display any empathy, nor did he apologize for any potential misunderstanding. Instead, he yelled and continued to talk-down to our table.
I dine out often, and have never been treated with such disrespect. My goal is to share my extreme dissatisfaction with Dallas BBQ Restaurant and its poorly-educated and under-trained staff. I will never visit Dallas BBQ Restaurant again. They turned what would have been a nice birthday dinner into a disgusting experience.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT I RATE DALLAS BBQ RESTAURANT WITH ABSOLUTELY NO STARS!!! They would not post this review if I did not give it at least one star.
