City Dental PC

I went for my semi-annual checkup today. the wait was 5 minutes. the dentist and hygenist both remember me. the cleaning and buffing was pain free. i was in and out with in 20 minutes.

I was very impressed with City Dental. I made an appointment for my son for a Wed at 10:30am and he was seen right after we filled out the necessary paperwork which was around 10:35am. The staff was very pleasant and the office was very clean. My son had his x-ray, examination, and cleaning all within an hour. My son has to come back for fillings and the staff knew it was very important that he came back in before school started next week because I did not want him to miss any school time. Even though they had a very packed schedule they were able to squeeze my son in for Friday. Dr Taranov was very thorough and his staff was very thorough. It is hard to find a good dentist in NYC because most of them you have to be waiting for 3-5 hours and the staff is very rude. If you are looking for a great dental experience try City Dental.

I just came back from City Dental and was very satisfied with the service I get from them. I have not been to a dentist in a while so I was due. I called in the am & got a pm appointment the same day, I was very happy about that. Prior to my call to City Dental I called several other dentist who gave me appointments ranging from the next day to a week. The Hygienist Elana was very nice & understanding and explained what she was doing and why she was doing it. I had to get a couple of fillings and a deep cleaning done all which were pain free thanks to the HUGE used to numb my gums lol.I plan on returning to City Dental for my follow up exam in 6 months.

I recently moved from LA, so my excellent LA periodontist recommended a Central Park South colleague, who is excellent. When I wanted a dentist, though, I wanted someone closer to where I live downtown, and asked my tennis partners for recommendation. One said, without a doubt, Dr. Taranov of City Dental.
Turned out I needed three crowns replaced. After the first crown was done, I returned for my gum cleaning to my periodontist,
Without my asking, she complimented me on my new crown. I wanted to make sure she was not just being polite, so I asked how she could tell it was nice. The margins, she explained, were good between the crown and my teeth, and the crown sat right. I had, she said, found myself a good dentist..

And yes, he is an English speaking Russian-American. So what?

I went to city dental two years ago. I felt I was at a car dealership more than a dentist. They kept pushing, teeth whitening, xrays, periodontal work. Finally, I told them I just want a cleaning. Not a good feeling from this place, but it was close to my job and I thought what could possibly go wrong with a cleaning. Well two years later I went to another dentist who recommended getting periodontal work done in my back molar. When I called my insurance company to ensure coverage they informed me I already had periodontal work done at City Dental! I was floored. I immediately called city dental and after threatening to take them to the BBB they refunded my insurance company the money. I would stay far away from this place.
