Canis Minor - Newport, Jersey City

I go to Canis Minor if I'm running out of kitty chow and I don't have time to go to a big pet store. They have a good selection of healthy actually good for your cat, food. Prices are just slightly higher than regular retail but it won't break the bank. Staff are friendly.

Thats it I'm done with this place.! We've been using Canis Minor since we moved here 10 months ago it was more the convenience at first. They messed up a few appointments thru out the 10 months. A few times the clipped the "old dog" warts but this last time I experienced customer service at its worst.

I called same day to see if I can get in and Roger that normally grooms our dog was told he is sort-of MIA. The manager was worried more about the fact he had be called into work on Saturday his day off. So explained that Roger was suppose to be working Tuesday but didn't know where he was, and he proceeded to tell me that Jen was working and she is good with dogs and I made the app't for 1:30. I got there at 1:25 and the clerk told me that she stepped out for a break. I said fine I can wait a bit but she proceeded to call her on her cell phone and Jen wanted to talk to me. "HEY WHATS UP" her response to my Hello. I said I'm here for a grooming she said what are you looking for, humm grooming, are you coming back soon I need to talk to you about a few issues (meaning warts etc) She hung on me I said to the clerk she doesn't sound happy.

I was wandering in the shop with my dog and she stormed in and said to the clerk "WHERE IS HE" in a pissed off voice, and the clerk said to her, calm down! I came around the corner and said to her " With that attitude you are not touching my dog" I was walking out and she ""OKAY BYE"

Its my turn to say "OKAY BYE"

Quality selections & good prices for a small store. The staff is kind & helpful. The grooming here is simply okay.

I took my toy poodle for a trim. Unfortunately I didn't communicate well to the groomer and he gave her a standard poodle trim. I expressed to the staff I wanted her trimmed down a lot more which I didn't express better. The staff was so polite and insisted I bring her back to get the cut we wanted for no charge. The groomer was so nice and helped us understand the different types of cuts. My dog looks perfect and his skill level is great. The boutique was so great about the entire thing. Also, I always buy supplies and food ..the best quality!

I went to the store and purchased a clothes which was a sale item, and before I purchased it I did ask the return policy, and the cashier told me it's returnable. However, the clothes is not fit on my cat, so I went back to return. Then, the cashier changed her words and said it's a sale item so cannot give my money back. She asked me to call later and talk to her manager. However, the manager kept saying it's miss communicate and only wanted to give me store credit. I told her it's not what I heard before but she insists in a bad attitude. I was so angry and wanted to share this BAD experience!!!
