Café Beit

Cool staff -nice big window to look outside :-) the simple things, I guess...

I use el beit primarily as a work space so can only comment on how well it serves as my office.... The WIFI is good and almost never down, there are 3 sets of outlets that cover pretty much all of the tables but BEWARE the outlets are loose and macbook cords without their extensions will fall out and not stay in the wall, so bring your extension cord! The front of the house has a few two person tables that I generally leave to non-computer customers while the back of the cafe has a large worktable that can fit up to 6. It is almost always filled with 6 people with computers and actually makes for quite a nice peer-pressure fueled workspace. There is also a comfortable, and very very worn armchair which is a comfortable place to sit with a computer all day. WATCH OUT when you go to el biet in the winter-- there is a backyard garden (which I am sure is very nice in the summer) but in the winter, people go out there to smoke and almost never close the door. So, it makes for a frustrating work environment when you have to get up every 5 minutes and close the door after some hipster too lazy to close it themselves to stop the winter air from freezing the whole place. FOOD: nothing special. The coffee expensive and small. I really just buy it for the right to use their wifi and workspace.
