we took a trip to NY city for museums Sunday 8/28/16 we had heard of black tap burger and beer restaurant on line and thru some friends so after checking reviews we went with great expectations of the city "style" eatery we were not disappointed
..other then a little extra wait with 3 hungry kids in tow,.. the "mgr" noticed and did comp for our inconvenience ...
we were pleasantly surprised at the decedent creamy craft shakes "alone worth going for.". great craft burgers ,great craft beers and excellent service ...seemed everyone was helpful even it wasn't their section
not only will i recommend to family and friends but i will go back again.
ps
"mgr" thx for making or ny city trip complete
& sorry about the spills kids will be kids:)

I 10000000% was WAITING for a moment so I can write a review on this place. Started off fine (it was my friends birthday and she's always wanted to come here for the shakes) except for the waiting on line for an hour in the rain for us to go into the establishment and it to be empty because they were short staffed. We sat down and immediately the waiter Nasim told us there was a 20 minute wait on shakes and a 40 minute wait on food. SO AFTER our hour wait to sit now we have to wait for drinks and food....whatever, we decided to wait. I ordered a to go box and shake for my husband and when it was time to pay, I asked for a bag....there were no bags in the whole place. We started to complain because we waited for EVERYTHING and now it's raining outside and I had to train it home and walk with a shake in one hand and a burger with fries in the other. The manager said she would go get us a bag and indeed left and came back with one, BUT decided we didn't need it. When I went to speak with the Caucasian male manager (I am an African American female), his exact words were "so what do you expet us to do and why is it so hard to believe that we don't have bags?" and rolled his eyes at me A LOT. When the Caucasian female manager, she INSTANTLY got a DISGUSTING attitude and ignored me to talk to her Caucasian friend. I told them I wasn't paying for the items if I didn't have a bag to leave with and the male manager with an attitude said, "You ordered these items and they are at your table and regardless if your taking them your GOING to take care of this situation (the bill) and if you won't we WILL be having a problem!" and then told the security guard not to let me leave the building so I had to call the cops. As soon as the cops came, the Caucasian male and female manager act like they were so scared of us AFRICAN AMERICAN CUSTOMERS and were spilling lies on top of lies to the cops from ME EATING THE TO GO FOOD to me LEAVING WIT THE FOOD AND PUTTING IT IN A PLASTIC BAG AND GETTING IN MY CAR (I don't even know how to drive let alone have a car). I was so hurt and embarrassed of the lies they were telling the cops that I started getting hot and tearing because they were lying and I had 6 witnesses to the incident stated that I didn't touch the food and all we wanted was a bag, WHICH THEY HAD 5 OF BY THE WAY because my friend found them by the bar. Will NEVER go to this establishment again because it's racial discrimination and profiling at its finest. They saw 6 African Americans and 1 Caucasian and thought they can take advantage of us. All they care about is that dollar and not their customers.....shouldn't matter what race you are.

I give it a 1 star, I thought $15 was high for a milkshake. But the waitress convinced me they were the best in NYC. Presentation I give 5 stars. The shake was watery. I thought shakes were thick and creamy? Also, I couldn't see my food or talk to my family the music was way to loud. I couldn't find any pictures on your website of the inside. And when you are served water, I think I deserve cold water after standing outside for hours. The wait was my choice. The shake and warm water and many other reasons I would not go back. Thanks for a expense not worth the price. The burgers were slightly above average, nothing special. I could of went to Shake shack or Five guys. They make just as good of burgers and much better and tastier shakes. Just not as creative looking.

There are only 4 shakes that are there specialty shakes, but they do have other flavors (just won't look too crazy for pictures).

The wait was about 45 minutes --> they don't do reservations! We had someone really nice help us at the door and got us in quicker!

The place is tiny but very hipster and cute! The service was super quick and our waiter was very friendly!

We got 3 out of 4 specialty shakes and THEY WERE AMAZING!
I also had a Falafel Burger! Super fresh and yummy!
