Great experience! Picked up the car late Christmas Eve 2015 and everyone from the counter to car checkout to the gate was smiling and helpful. They didn't have the car size I ordered originally, soo I got a free upgrade to a larger car. The only issue was it was a hybrid ( didn't notice) and shut itself off if idling in gear for awhile. Didn't know that but some family explained it. When I returned the car the guy checking me in was quick, helpful and apologized about the "lack of hybrid instruction."
I like Alamo because they always seem to go the extra mile to keep you coming back. The Newark airport crew is terrific.

Alamo now at National counter. Easy access on AirTran at Newark Airport. Seamless rental. Used kiosk. Got brand new Hyundai Sonata. Fair price. Easy return. No problems. Way cheaper on this trip than Hertz my usual choice.

We recently rented a car (September 25th) at Newark International airport and the service was top notch. We arrived at 12:30 am and to our surprise there was a line of patrons and only one man working, probably because of the time of day it was. None-the-less, the individual was efficient and moved through the guests quickly. He was apologetic for the wait and very friendly. From there, we walked to the lot and was greeted by another employee who assisted us in letting us pick out our car. He too was extremely courteous and friendly and accommodating. He offered us bottled water and as we were traveling with our two children under age of 5, he suggested a car that would be best for us. Additionally, he offered to help with our car seats. The entire experience was outstanding and when returning our car it was simple and quick. Alamo should be proud of these employees who made our experience perfecting therefore we will be repeat customers. Thank you!

Ordered a premium car for a smooth ride since my wife just had a double mastectomy. The Chrysler 300 I was given was a disaster. Whenever I hit a bump in the road, I had o hang on to the steering wheel for dear life as it tried to jump out of my hands. Returned the car (drove 90 miles round-trip) and was told no premium car available and were giving me a Kia Optima. Stood there with my mouth open since the Optima is a small car compared to 300. Was told no premium car available. Then asked for upgrade and was told no car available. Had to settle for a Chevy Malibu with NO back-up camera and no GPS. When I returned the car, I was told that although I had paid a premium car rate the Malibu was going to cost me as much as the premium car I had originally rented and that was it. Is this some kind of Mickey Mouse operation where I had to pay a premium price for a Chevy Malibu without a back-up camera or a GPS? Is Alamo for real?
