- Terrible #124955
I have been taking my dog (almost 9 years old Boston Terrier) here for the last 5 years. Unfortunately I did not realize the situation before it was too late. For the past 3 years (at least) I would take my dog to see dr. Jones (something like 3 to 5 X a year) .
My dog's behavior had been increasingly changing and I was trying to find out what was wrong with her by: TAKING HER TO THE VET.
For every complaint I had there was a "look" like I was "overreacting"!
I have asked her if she could have Dog Dementia? Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome? Anything that would explain why my dog was not herself.
I was made to feel so bad that I started making excuses for her behavior, like telling people "She is getting grumpy with age!" Until she almost bit me, and that's when I realized I was not overreacting and I had enough. This january I called asking for a neuro referral. 1st thing the Neuro told me is that Boston Terriers are prone to have brain tumors and her symptoms were all in accordance to her having a tumor.
After a very expensive MRI, I found out she has a slow growing glioma, that by now is way too big to have any kind of treatment done. All the treatment options are too risky and expensive.
So, next time you see a Vet, make sure he/she is actually considering the years you've spent with your dog and taking into account what you tell them, instead of making you feel there's something wrong with you.
I can not express how much it hurts to know I could have done something to help my dog if I was better assisted by Dr. Jones. Now I have waisted so much money seeking help, only to be made to fell stupid.
Don't let that happen to you!

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Lee and the staff at West Village Veterinary Hospital. They helped my cat - and me - during the cat's terminal illness. Dr. Lee did everything she could to help make my cat comfortable and calm, from diagnosis thru palliative care, right up to the very end. Her compassion, kindness, skills -- helped us get through an awful time..

The practice is clean, well-run, with smart and caring staff and doctors. I highly recommend West Village Veterinary Hospital.

Friendly and competent staff and doctor. Vet takes time to understand your concerns and answers all questions thoroughly. Quite pricey, but well worth it for the comfort of a healthy pet!

This is an absolutely fabulous veterinary practice! My Japanese Chin, Boo, had his neutering here and now visits here for normal routine care now that we have moved from Battery Park City (we went to the BPC location before). The vets here are warm and caring, both towards pets and people! I wouldn't take Boo anywhere else. It is also especially convenient that this vet has Saturday appointments!

I took in homeless puppy from Italy this summer and brought him to NYC. The nice people at WV VET hospital helped me translate all my Italian paperwork, and continued his other vaccinations. They've been sweet and helpful, and for a first time dog owner, very comforting to know they are there to help and keep my dog healthy! He also loves it there and tries to go in every time we pass by. Highly recommended!
