First I'd like to qualify my star rating to 3.5 previously I would have put it between 4 and 4.5. Until recently this pizza parlor was my go to place for not pizza, but hero's and dishes; their chicken parm was outstanding and hefty, the eggplant parm was the best you could get anywhere, all you have to do is ask them to toast the bread otherwise your sandwich is likely to fall apart on you when you unwrap it. The meatball and sausage hero's always seem to be smaller for some reason even though the price is a tad higher than most local pizzerias. They have a dish baked cheese stuffed rigatoni thats excellent. The bad part is something has happened in the kitchen over the past few months; I first noticed when I made the bad mistake of ordering a dish, veal rollatini, I have had this dish multitude times in sit down restaurants all over the place and it's generally tender scallopine veal wrapped around prosciutto and cheese in a marsala or broth and wine sauce; here I got eggplant rollatini with veal cutlet replacing the eggplant and in a pasty tomato sauce. Ordering this was one of the worst decisions I've ever made and it was NOT cheap. I thought that possibly they had someone new in the kitchen that had never made veal rollatini and had improvised, so I blew it off and decide I would stick to the tried and true when I order again. A week or 2 later I ordered an eggplant parm hero and it was mostly end pieces with the peel on, their eggplant never had peels before and the sandwich was small to boot. Being a glutton for punishment I waited a few weeks figuring they would get the hint or the kitchen staff would be up to speed and I ordered a chicken parm hero, another faux pas ensued, strike number 3, the hero was very healthy in size however they must have had an old cutlet hanging around and they cut it up with good cutlet so in every bite you would get a hard piece youhad to pull or spit out. The story would end here but I had gotten several of my coworker s and employees going there and one of them told me he had spoken to them of my displeasure and convinced me to give them another shot. I did and ordered eggplant parm, this time it was good. If they maintain I'll write another review and up the rating again.
