US Post Office

Red Hook Post Office on Clinton Street is my local Post Office. On January 26th I went there for my passport. I have emphysema due to weather have trouble breathing. The post office lady brought me a stool to sit on was extremely patient and courteous I asked for her name it ins Lisa, I have noticed her other times I have been there she is courteous and good tempered. I find most of the staff are nice I have experienced a coupe of times not so polite staff serving me, I might add they were always male. The Post Office is filthy that is not the staff's fault that is the management. Overall my experience has been very good. I would recommend Lisa she deserves recognition for her pleasant service. Post offices don't get a lot of love, but my local one here in Red Hook has always treated me well. Clean, orderly, and well-stocked. I'm out of town a lot and frequently have to pick up packages that have been left at this location and I've never had a problem.

I doubted the low ratings at first and went hopeful... Bring your own pen and other shipping supplies.. The window clerk did not understand my question and then made me feel bad about it.. Thank goodness for few nice NYers who empathized and helped me out. They're the reason I'm giving 1 star.. And it's not possible to give zero. Who has one window open at a post office on a wknd?!? Best to come with printed postage and drop off :p

I hate this place the staff is extremely lazy and they do not deliver any packages but claim that they tried and no one was home which is complete utter Bullshit, I work from home for a homecare staffing agency, I have to be home during the hours of 9am to 5pm for me to man the phone line. My office setup is in my living room which is conveniently near my apartment door and No One Knocked on my door to deliver any package. Now these idiots are sending back my package and I just flipped out on party city for charging me a fee of delivery through UPS not USPS, but the idiots sent it to the worst post office in America. They should shut that place down or better yet get rid of the staff and higher new people.

I drive out of my way to go get my mail errands done here. Line moves quickly if there ever is a line. And most staff were quick to help and service I got was courteous and efficient. Maybe I just got lucky but I wanted to put my 2 cents in as positive reinforcement so it can stay that way.
