Slow service, but can be worth it

Went there last night and the workers there were entirely rude. Although they were apparently "closed" around 10pm (store said 11pm), there were still a group of people inside the shop. Wanting some ice cream me and my family decided to ask if they were still open. This dyed red headed girl (who looked intoxicated) rudely said "no, get out" and as we exited the shop the same red head abruptly opened the door while my little cousin JUST got out and was standing close to it. Then she proceeded to comment "the store is close, get the f*** out." In some exchange of snark comments and her threatening to "snuff" us, she had the audacity to make racial comments about us being "chinese". If this establishment allows such people in their store "after hours" I and the rest of my family will carry our business elsewhere and will be sure to complain to the store manager and make sure everyone knows it. I usually give extra to the students who work their for their college tuition, understanding how difficult the economy is, as I am a student myself, but if these are the type of people that "hangout" in that establishment "afterhours"... Then I am at lost for words.

During the summer, this location is just out of control! Too many people, lined up to nearly the train station and when you finally get up there, they rush to serve you.

Again, I'm not a fan of Uncle Louie G's but I prefer other locations over this one.

Please don't misunderstand. I'm crazy about the Italian ice. But when my daughter and I had pushed my husband's wheelchair up the slope from 5th Avenue so we could all have a treat at Louie G's, I first took out a plastic cup and asked that it be filled with water. I couldn't believe it when I was refused. If a chubby girl with dark blonde hair waits on you, ask for a human being instead.
