Uncle Bob's Self Storage

I have use different storage facilities over the years, none have compared to the wonderful service and facilities of Uncle Bob's! Lynn Montanez and Tom Frawley are dedicated and helpful Manager and Assistant Manager respectively and are both awesome. This is a great storage facility!

Beware of predatory fees and EXTREMELY unpleasant customer service!
First i have used storage consistently since 01' i recently moved to uncle bobs storage in Englewood from extra space storage merely for the sake of convenience. What a huge mistake! Right off the bat i noticed issues about the facility that should have given me warning but failed to take in consideration. 1st the buildings are open during the day. Doors should be closed but are not and its not a big deal as there's a gate but when i was leaving at the end of the day i saw a rat in the lot. it wasnt IN the building but could easily gain access. Secondly, the few carts provided on the premises are in poor condition, the carts are rickety, stained, and or in overall just poor condition. I wasnt happy putting my things on them at all!
The elevators: extremely slow and constantly close on your things when trying move in and out! Horrible when moving fragile items, expensive couches, furniture. Hallways: floors are very uneven. Rolling their rickety carts over them makes items unstable & almost impossible to keep on carts. Uncle bob's has 15 minute timers on the wall. This is absolutely horrible! Multiple times while loading and unloading the timer would shut off the lights leaving me completely in the dark with only exit sign lights to illuminate my passage. Very inconvenient and felt unsafe.
Procedure and customer service is atrocious! I have only been @ uncle bobs a few months and i set up auto pay. Unfortunately my cc declined the payment bc i was out of town a few days and missed my payment so when the bill came through the card declined.. I was unaware of this until receiving a notification in the mail from uncle bobs. When i called them to rectify the situation the said they were unable to take a cc on the phone and i would have to come down in person. WHAT AN INCONVENIENCE! next i tried to visit their website which would also not let me make a payment because the situation. Finally i called corporate which told me the same thing! i had no choice but to go down to the unit to make payment, difficult as i travel a lot for work.
Anyway when i got back in town, Yesterday morning i stopped at the bank to pickup cash to pay the bill and went down to the storage unit 12/16/2015 I explained to the clerk i had a past due balance for November due to a cc billing problem and i would like to pay the rent for November and December. My rent for the unit is 220/month. She told me the balance due was $660.00 I asked why, when i am trying to pay for 2 months $440.00 she said the additional $220 is in late fee and a lien. I expressed that i understood there would be a late fee but not 220.00 for 45 days. That's 100% interest! I told here i had $500 with me but i don't feel comfortable paying a lien fee when number 1, i never received any paperwork in the effect that a lien was filed, and number 2, even if it was, i have filed liens in the past and it costs 35.00 to file a lien. The clerk "Echevarrie" i believe her name was, became very belligerent, she started wagging her finger and head at me with extreme (foreign) attitude!! She told me she cant accept the $500 cash i had with me, she could only accept full payment or nothing. I asked to speak to a manager immediately. I had $500.00 cash on the counter and they wouldn't accept payment after making me set aside time to come down to the location! She said the manager was in a meeting but it doesn't appear there was any place for the meeting take place so i asked that she call her. She refused. I asked for a regional manager. She wrote a number and name on a post it. When i called no voice-mail set up but decided to leave a message. No return call 24 hours later. I continued to try to make a payment and the clerk got fed up and called the police!!!! Next thing i know the Captain, a detective and a patrol officer all show up on scene! Why?? because i was trying to pay them and they would accept my payment! Does this make sense to anyone else?? STAY AWAY

Excellent facility! 24 hour access available. Temperature controlled units available. Gated entrance and elevator access. The staff was incredibly accommodating and polite and friendly to work with! I originally had an Extra Space storage unit and the elevators were breaking and my code wasn't working the first two days I got my unit. Uncle Bob's storage worked great without a problem. Great company. Great people. Definitely my go-to storage facility now! - DJ Afino

The Store Manager, Lynn, is absolutely amazing. Without fail, she greets me with a smile and always remembers my name. Even with an extremely busy office, she takes the time to make sure that every customer is happy. As long as Lynn is the manager, I will be a customer for life!
