Great relaxing way to see some of New York. We had a great time. Two hours relaxing sailing around the harbor. Captain Dave takes you within a couple hundred feet of the Statue of Liberty.

Thanks again, The Tuckers and Connelleys from Waxhaw, NC.

What a thrill to set sail right off one the busy new downtown piers! My children, 11 and 14, had never been sailing before, and we wanted to be outdoors - since it was the first sunny day all week. I had no idea what a thrill it would be for all of us, and the views were spectacular - from Lady Liberty to Mid-town. The boat itself is a gem, a real class act, and Captain David effortlessly sailed us around the Hudson, and back to the pier (where we spent the rest of the afternoon, playing mini-golf, and hanging out in the water park). This is a stress-reducing antidote to life in the fast lane. It's a must do for anyone looking for a new thrill, and Captain Dave will even let you steer.

My husband surprised me with a private sail aboard the Tara in the Hudson river for our anniversary! the boat was in tip-top shape and very easy to get to - Captain Dave gave us a quick safety brief which I appreciated, then off we sailed into NY harbor :)

We brought with us a picnic of wine, bread, cheeses & meats and were allowed anywhere on the boat we wanted (especially up front on the bow when we were going over waves- fun!). As the sun was setting over Lady Liberty & Ellis Island, the captain gave us some quick/interesting/funny stories about things we were sailing past - but he let us to ourselves as well (it being a romantic occasion).

We were pretty pleased with ourselves that we weren't on one of those packed-to-the-gills power & sail boats that we sailed past, those people looked like sardines! Tribeca Sailing limits their nyc sails to only 6 people :) And the rates were reasonable too. Oh, and if you ask, Captain Dave will let you steer the boat a bit!

If you're looking for a quality sail in the harbor at a reasonable price with friendly service, go with Tribeca Sailing, you won't be sorry. (And this from a picky NYer!!)

It's been over a week since I experienced what it was like taking a voyage with Captain David on the sailboat TARA. It was quite a memorable and unforgettable experience, one definitely worth repeating. My first impression of the boat was that it was immaculate, a sparkling white and green exterior with gorgeous wood detail inside and out. It had soft luxurious seat cushions and whiter than white sails if that's possible. I would equate this 50 year old vessel to a classic rolls royce in absolute mint condition. The intent of my trip was to catch up and have some fun with some family members I haven't seen in a long time, but it ended up being so much more. There were 6 of us with plenty of room to sit and talk or put our feet up to relax. I surprisingly felt myself doing the latter most of time on our excursion.

I also felt the experience was intimate, whereas David gave TARA her own wide personal space with no other boats nearby. And when I noticed the spectacular view of Lower Manhattan, I became engrossed and mesmerized at the enormity of the buildings, a vantage point only able to be seen on water. Somehow the experience remained intimate and not touristy. In all my years living on LI and visiting NYC, I've never seen the Statue of Liberty so up-close and personal before. That experience alone makes the excursion worth repeating. If you're looking for a unique experience with memories that will last a lifetime, I highly recommend a Tribecasailing adventure with Captain David onboard the Hinckley Sailboat TARA. One warning... You'll become addicted and will want to come back for more!!
