I've been a student of Yury's since middle school; he has helped me prepare for the Specialized High School Admissions Test and the SAT. Because of his help, I got into Staten Island Technical HS and have received very satisfying SAT scores. While I was actively prepared to understand and excel on tests, I was also taught how to critically read, question concepts, and express my ideas articulately both in speech and writing. The classes consist of the expected test-taking practice and also some less conventional learning experiences-such as reading different texts, watching documentary or informational videos, discussion, etc. There are assignments you must complete during the week, which greatly help. I'm extremely grateful for the experience; I feel that it has prepared me for much more than passing some tests. These classes have influenced the way I think and speak and have inspired me to be a far more informed and expressive person.
