The atmosphere is great, and I like the decorations, and there is a good ambiance. The food is ok, and it is safer to stick to wine or beer. The drinks aren't that strong. If you do that, it is fun. We had some seafood our group , oysters, clams and shrimp.

- Poor #13899
I have been to the beer garden countless times, but only recently had dinner here for the first time on a Friday night. I found the food to be slightly below average for its price and the service to be slow and inattentive. With regard to the food, I had the salmon, which was overcooked and surprisingly very boring and bland. My friend had the trout, which she said was also bland and served with potatoes smothered in some tangy and inedible butter cream sauce. At the very least, those two dishes needed more flavor, effort, and inspiration. As to service, our waiter was largely absent and unavailable for most of the night. We had to stalk him for our drinks, which came *after* we completed our entrees. He also failed to timely provide our check and thank us for dining with the restaurant. I entertain clients at the best NYC restaurants on a weekly basis and would be ashamed to take them here. I can only guess that the good reviews are based solely upon the restaurant's great location in close proximity to the High Line. I would definitely go somewhere else in the neighborhood rather than spend my money on uninspiring food with inattentive service.

Fantastic food with fantastic service. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable and although there could be a little wait, it's well worth it!

- Terrible #13900
Would have loved to try the food because I have heard such good things, but me and my boyfriend never even made it past the hostesses. After being told the wait would be 30 to 40 minutes, we left and returned 30 minutes later to see that I had received a message 10 minutes after check in and didn't realize. We apologized for the miscommunication but expressed that the r e was in fact a miscommunication. We went on to ask how long we would now have to wait, and the lead hostess took charge of the situation to reply "well what do you expect, it's been an hour." Alarmed, I replied that it had been 30 minutes and was willing to wait, but she continued to snap at us, roll her eyes, and act quite unprofessionally. Needless to say I wish the service could have been much different. I turned to the hostess who had originally confused the wait time and told her not to worry but that we were no longer interested and we were on our merry way.

Had breakfast here. Service was prompt and the food was good. It's just a bit weird... The waiters wear sunglasses even at 10am on a cloudy day. It makes the service seem impersonal, they may as well wear a mask.

I've since been informed by a friend that they wear sunglasses so you can't see them cry when you yell at them. :)
