An amazing staff and great food. Usually work for Mr.Avi family and eating there was nice. Still go there to get their vegetable soup.

My 13 year old son and I decided to stop in for a quick lunch on the way home from his orthodontist appt. yesterday. We were the first customers in the dining area just before lunch time.... and the waitress became obviously annoyed because she was trying to have a conversation with the other waitress before the big lunch rush. They WERE open. Anyway, we ordered 2 sandwiches. There happens to be a small pickle bar with potato salad and coleslaw from which the customer can partake before they eat. The plates are very small to keep people from getting greedy... which is understood. My son and I made a trip. I took a small helping of potato salad and coleslaw with a pickle. Our sandwiches came so fast that I only took a bite of my pickle and a bite of the potato salad. By the time I had finished half of my sandwich, I could not eat anymore. I asked the waitress to wrap up the other half and the rest of my potato salad and coleslaw. She told me that I was not "allowed" to take my potato salad and coleslaw home with me. I'm sorry.... WHAT? The sandwich I had just eaten was around $13.00. It came with nothing else but that little helping of potato salad and coleslaw from the bar.....something you always get in a diner without serving yourself! I said "so instead of giving it to me, you are just going to throw it away???" Obnoxiously she said "YES! That's the way the owner wants it." I might be able to understand it if the plates were bigger than a 5" diameter and we made several trips.... but we made one! With all of the starvation that goes on... to just throw away food??? Why don't they just make a one trip policy if they are so afraid they are going to be short a pickle??? You can barely fit anything on the plates as it is... These people are so obviously full of greed... and the waitress needs to take a charm class because she was extremely rude. Her entire demeanor just ruined our afternoon :( BACK TO THE OWNERS RESPONSE.... we were not looking to take several plates or planning take out. We just wanted the small amount we were entitled to have with our meal. You throw away food in a starving world. SHAME ON YOU. And, please don't try to draw the negative attention away by speaking about your BIG sandwich. UGH.

Awful service, cold pastrami (who ever thought any Kosher Deli would not know how to serve a pastrami sandwich.....The bill was incorrect and she had to change it, and, changed it wrong again. She has no idea how to properly serve a customer. That we did not complain that minute was due to a tragedy in our family which distracted us. After speaking to Avi, the owner today, his answer was what can he do if we did not complain immediately. He stated by my description that it could have been his wife. What can I do, he said. It was a very poor scenario and I am not planning on going back. This is very unfortunate, since it is a restaurant we're always found to be a treat in a meal. There are no stars I can give to my review. The situation calls for no stars and no recommendations.

Very good kosher deli: overstuffed corned beef, pastrami, pot roast sandwiches, along with free salad bar. Excellent knishes , kasha varnishkes, cucumber salad, chicken soup, beef barley soup, and flanken in a pot.
