Paid 1000 to stay in such a low level hotel. If you pay to stay here you do not get access to the bar or club. All the pictures that they display are a complete lie and management likes to give you the run around about why you can't access the floor club. Do not buy into low level hotel that tries to mislead you with its own hype. Also it's disgusting and full of bed bugs. I'm praying for you if you pay for such a ratchet hotel.

You're on a ship headed for a new life. Or your in Wes Anderson's latest film. Or your in a simple but clean and hip Manhattan hotel paying 2/3 of what you would pay elsewhere. What's the difference, really, at the Jane Hotel. It's where I like to stay if I am in New York during the high season. There's not a lot of room for your stuff, but you probably pack too much anyway.

Great place to visit. Atmosphere is elegent but exciting. The only challenge is that you need to get there real early.

The bar is the worst scene in NYC. There was a huge bug crawling behind the bar. Gross!! The doorman and the bouncers out front were so rude to everyone. If you like bugs in your drink and rude staff, go here.

Don't stay at the Jane & expect anyone to pay any mind to your comments about small rooms and shared bathrooms. It is what it is - lots of rooms, with bunks no less!, lots of travelers and a GREAT location. Add to that the ambiance, helpful staff (despite having to wear those little hats!) & the cafe. I say it's a GEM! We really liked it.
Not only is there free wi-fi, but they'll loan you a laptop...or a bike, for that matter. Sure, the 2 toilets and 2 showers weren't enough to accommodate our floor - but for bathrobes, slippers, lovely clean tile & fixtures, shampoo, conditioner& hairdryer provided - it's worth getting up 15 minutes earlier to beat the rush.
I wonder if there was a storage room for luggage, tho. A full size suitcase would be very inconvenient under foot. The rooms ARE downright claustrophobic - all wood & upholstery & rugs. Don't go to sleep without figuring out the lights & ventilation options, in case you wake in the night & the walls are closing in on you, so to speak.
01/18/16 still loving it! tho some tenants don't live by the non smoking rule.
