After a hike up the step staircase of 302 Bowery prepare yourself to join the company of a secular Buddhist community that it all at once humbling, inspiring, dedicated, feisty, challenging, hilarious, committed, and just all around amazing. IDP (for short) offers a fantastic array of secular Buddhist courses, meditation practices and compassionate activism, along with community yoga and weekend retreats. The teachers are inspired and inspiring and do a great job placing the teachings and practices into our busy 21st century city lives. The Interdependence Project quickly became one of my all time favorite places on the planet!
