As a voice teacher and creative expression coach, I cannot recommend the after school programs offered by Hobby Quest enough. Whether through Aviation, Magic, Fashion or Photography - nothing could develop a child's passions, skills and personality more. And as is common knowledge, it is better to start doing these earlier rather than later.
In today's digital world where social media, video games and apps are becoming the main ways in which people are connecting with life and each other - nothing could be more timely and vital than the tangible, real and physical wide-ranging programs that Hobby Quest offers.
Through Aviation kids learn the magic of physics, aerodynamics and good old-fashioned FUN - as well as true socializing, team-work, hands-on construction and a sense of true accomplishment. "I built this!"
Through Magic kids learn the art of show and the power of illusion. Magic is great for kids to realize that the way something is presented makes a huge difference. As I see it, the magic program is a huge metaphor for a lot of things in life. Study, Prepare, Practice and Perform - and of course, if you want to succeed, pay great attention to detail.
Through Fashion kids get to become active participants in the creation of their wardrobes. Once a child learns to tweak their own fashion, their sense of self will become strengthened and nourished as they become empowered to bring their unique gifts to display. No longer do they have to wear what someone else made exactly as it was offered to them. They are now in charge and they have now found their own voice.
Finally, through Photography children will learn to see the "big picture" (pun intended) meaning that they will be challenged to look at things from different angles and perspectives and question and reconsider what they are looking at. Also through this program they will be encouraged to appreciate different aspect of nature, colors, society, culture and life in general.
The diversity of the programs offered by this wonderful company really runs the spectrum that reflects the diverse and unique personalities of our children. I would encourage all my young students that have the ability to sign up for one of these programs at their schools to take up the one that calls their heart most. I am really grateful that these hands-on, truly social and fun programs are still being made available for the kids of our world to get an early start in the cultivation of so many helpful attributes. Any or all of these programs will no doubt change a child's life for the better. I highly recommend the Hobby Quest!
