We purchased the Whoopie Pies from TheGlutenFreeShop in December. After not receiving them, I had to call and inquire (not sure why they didn't contact us). We were told the flavor we ordered was not in stock and they didn’t know when they would receive more. We did change flavors and the shipment was sent. Upon receiving the package we were concerned and disappointed. The product clearly says to keep frozen. The product had been put in a standard cardboard box with some packing paper. The product was far from frozen and we were concerned that it may not be safe to consume.

I contacted the TheGlutenFreeShop via email to raise the concern and request a full refund and got no response.

I’m not sure if I can provide a real product review, but base on my experience I am unable to recommend the product or vendor.

My experience with The Gluten Free Shoppe was outstanding, and their customer service has been better than I have ever experienced. Last Christmas there weren't a lot of my favorite Christmas treats in the house because I had recently been diagnosed as gluten-free and we could not find some of the ingredients anywhere that were absolutely necessary for those treats.

Near the end of the summer, I found chow mien noodles that my husband mixes with melted semi-sweet chocolate, drops them on parchment paper and leaves them to dry. He calls them Ting-A-Lings. So I bookmarked the company and thought that I'd have to make vanilla wafers so that he could make rum balls for me. Rum balls are one of my absolute favorite holiday treats and I so missed having none available for me in 2014.

But, I checked latter in the fall and there the Vanilla Wafers were, right at the same place I found the chow mien noodles, the Gluten Free Shoppe. I wasn't sure what they'd taste like, so when I got them, I tasted one and they taste just like the "Nilla" wafers we buy for the regular Rum Balls.

When I was placing my order for the two items, I decided to look around the site to see what else looked good, and there were many good looking items on the site. They carry the super Goldbaums ice cream cones and sugar cones, and I eat them right out of the package as if they are cookies.

TGFS (The Gluten Free Shoppe) carries so many items that I have never heard of or ever seen before. The carry many products made by Jewish companies, and they make gluten free items popular with anyone who enjoys Jewish cooking and baking. TGFS carries all kinds of different types of gluten-free products, breads and bread mixes, some non-GMO products, sugar free treats, Ancient Grains, shelf stable meals & frozen items.

TGFS has a minimum order total of $18, which kind of surprised me, since I've only run into minimums once before on the web. In my opinion, their shipping rates are higher than most of the companies I deal with. But then, I don't order much food on-line. They ship everything via UPS, which is more expensive than USPS. However, they the food can't show up all broken & the frozen food needs to show up still frozen. So UPS or Fed-EX are your only choices. They also pack your order carefully, which means extra weight.

However, if you order over $100 of products, then shipping is free! So, as on Amazon, when I am looking for something that I don't need immediately, I put it on the list, and then when my list adds up to $100, I place an order. If your best friend or co-worker is also gluten-free, you can put together an order to reach the $100 limit. My sister & I place many orders with companies together, & split them when we get together.

If you look around the site, it is really easy to find new things to try to get your order up to $100, trust me on that.

I placed my order and early the next morning, Stephen from TGFS called me to ask if I really wanted to place 2 duplicate orders. OOPPSS! I must have not realized that I hit the button twice. He knew that most people would never place two orders right together & have all the items and totals match, but he still took the time to call me before sending the order on. But before he called, Stephen wanted to make sure that they had everything I wanted in stock, and as it turned out, they were out of the brand of an item, but had the same item made by another item. I told him to just switch it to the other brand.

I was excited when I got my package. I bought 2 of an item but I had no idea what it should taste like, so I emailed C/S to ask if the pastry was supposed to be hard. It was too hard for me to eat, so I tossed them out to the deer. Stephen called me & explained how the item should be, and offered to reimburse me for both packages, which he did. The refund showed up in my account shortly after.

They really care about their customers and I will be a life-long customer! Check out their site, you wont' be disappointed.

Wow I have had the same experience as Cynthia. Ordered online September 7! High priced order - first they "lost" it - then it was backordered - now it was supposed to have shipped 5 days ago - considering it is frozen food I don't think it is showing up. DO NOT USE. I do not like writing negative reviews about companies but they have stopped returning my calls.

They have an online store as well and I have to say their customer service and deliver is horrendous. I have tried contacting them via phone (mailbox full) and email with no response. I had to finally contact my credit card company to cancel my transaction since it had been over a week and I had not received a confirmation letter stating when I could expect my purchase.
