A sign of really fresh fish is that you don't smell it when it cooks. All I smelll cooking here is the chips!

Very nice and cozy place. I The Lady behind the bar was able to to create a seating for 8 of us. (Thanks again). The Fish 'n' Chips was top notch. It truly remind me of home along with the Spotted Dick. I was there to Celebrate my 50th Birthday with members of my family. The Waiter was excellent. She was a right laugh! A nice place to bring the misses or family for sure!

The chicken fingers were on point! They were nicely fried and the chips were well chipped. Its in a nice location and it has great music if you love classic British rock music. Awesome beer selection as well!

The ChipShop is one of the last great bastions of rebellion. You eat and drink amongst Sabbath, The Who, and The Sex Pistols—and amidst the roar of high-definition rugby and footballer crowds. Correct: that's nowhere near rebellion-level or street-fighting man. That's because founder and owner Chris Sell saves that for his management style: a rare-today blend of "Hello" when he greets you at the door, alongside his backup band faithfully playing to the beat of authentically kind and attentive bar and wait service. Chis Sell and The ChipShop: they may say "bullocks," but they say it with utterly lovely manners, meals that become your best friend, and beer that remains Brooklyn's best kept secret.—N. I stopped by with my mother on a Sunday because she really wanted the Sunday roast. Portion size was huge and everything on it was pretty tasty. It comes with a pint for $20 which isn't bad. I had the cod and chips which I enjoyed but the chips could have been better. The cod was perfectly battered and fried, it was nice and crispy and steamed when you cut it open. The chips were limp and soggy, I have no idea how you can do such a great job on the fish and a terrible job on the fries. I can only assume that the fries are done in batches and sit for a while while the fish is cooked to order. The portion size of the fish and chips was good as well and I wasn't able to finish it. I think this is the second time I've been here and I would return but they need to work on the consistency.
