A historic spot with friendly staff. Be sure to check out happy hour from 4 PM - 7 PM, Tuesday through Sunday. You may be lucky to try the bar bacon that they sometimes put out during happy hour. They have live music some nights as well.

We had our wedding at the Astor Room last Friday and we are still ecstatic. The entire night was perfect and we have the staff of the Astor Room to thank. To start, the Astor Room is incredibly cool looking. The dining room is spacious, the back room is comfortable, and the bar is elegant. Just walking down the stairs on the way to the restaurant gives one the feeling of entering a private Hollywood party during the 1920s. We hardly added any of our decor because the Astor Room by itself exudes class. Second, the food and drinks are fantastic. James and Michael, behind the bar, are expert mixologists. We did a cocktail hour and a buffet dinner for 110 people. The day after the wedding, our friends were still talking about the hors d’oeuvres that they enjoyed during cocktail hour. Many of our guests also bragged about returning to the buffet for seconds because they loved the food so much. Finally, the staff at Astor Room went out of its way to make our night perfect. I, the groom, went to the venue early in the morning to bring favors, place cards, and centerpieces to the venue. I was greeted by Monica, who helped my mother and me unpack, organize, and place the items throughout the restaurant. John, the manager, was the mastermind of the entire evening. He was THE BEST. He planned the night with us every step of the way. From the moment we decided to have our wedding at the Astor Room, John was our right-hand man. He had us over for our tasting, during which he gave us more than enough to eat and plenty to drink at no cost. He walked us through the rehearsal of our ceremony, both inside and outside of the restaurant (we had two different ideas for the location of our ceremony). Everything that he promised, he delivered. In fact, John even went beyond our requests. He personally printed last-minute posters and table numbers that I created on a whim just days before the wedding. He guided my elderly great aunt from the restaurant to the ceremony and back. As for the ceremony, he was the creator of what was the most beautiful part of the evening. Because our wedding day gave us poor weather, we had to scratch our idea to have our ceremony on the outdoor lot of Kaufman Studios. John organized for us to be married in a small, intimidate, and very cool movie theater located inside Kaufman Studios. John converted the 74-seat private screening room into a 100-seat theater for our ceremony. As I said before, it was perfect. John and the entire staff at the Astor Room are top-notch.
