Smelled pretty strongly of fish- which I see as a bad sign to cleanliness. I had a donburi which was okay- very sweet and mediocre. Service was nice, you can tell this is a long standing east side neighborhood spot.

Cozy atmosphere, friendly service and great sushi at a reasonable price. This is definitely my new go-to sushi spot when I visit NYC :)

Really good soup with soba noodles and yummy California rolls. My friend and I went and it was delish.

Went here last night for the first time with my boyfriend (we live in the area). We had no problem getting a table at prime dinnertime and the service was great! At first, a little slow, I could tell other tables were waiting for drinks or their check, but this place does a really good job in a small space.
We ordered a very large varied selection of plates: Fatty Tuna, Spicy Wakame salad, Ginger salad, Spicy Trio Roll Entree, Gyoza, Salmon Lover Roll, and "Big 7" sake.
The dumplings were delicious, great price on all plates. Was not crazy about the excess roe and tempura flakes on some of the rolls, but all of the fish was very fresh. Our server was friendly (although very busy!) and was helpful suggesting a sake. I would definitely come back here. For two people with 6 drinks and all the above plates ordered, the bill was $110. And honestly, the food is on par with Blue Ribbon so why pay an arm and a leg for the same prepared cuisine?
