I called the service department to have my headlight bulb replaced. I inquired as to the cost, knowing some labor was involved. They told me it would be a 3 hour charge for labor (@ $130/hr) claiming the bumper had to be removed in order to change the bulb. At any rate, I called Platinum Volkswagon and they replaced that bulb and the license plate bulb for a whopping total of $87. Needless to say, I saved about $400 and nearly 3 hours of wait time for my car.

This dealer would be great if the workers were the ones running it, because the manager is just disgusting. He is the typical guy who is just after your money, trying to scam you with fees and non-sense add-ons. Moreover they were very disorganized and unprofessional when I was about to buy the vehicle. They canceled my appt 10 minutes before just because they overbooked their schedule!!! And this was after I had already organize my schedule to take care of this (btw I work in the medical field so getting time off is not easy). Then after I got the car I was called 2 days later saying I needed to go back and repeat the paperwork because they made a mistake with on one of the forms!!! They had actually charged me more of what they should have.
Finally, the most annoying event occurred recently, after few months of having the car: I found a nail on one of my tires. Tried to change it but when the road side assistance guy came we found out that we never received the key for the wheels locks from the dealer. I called them and they said that maybe the prior owner never gave it to them, so I told them that this car actually belonged to the dealer (it was one of the replacement cars), so the the "amazing" and "pro-consumer" manager they had say that he wouldn't replace my key because he cannot trust my word as I am just coming up with this few months later. Of course this comes up now just because I never had an issue with the tired before.
Well done guys, well done, (sarcastic)...Sunrise VW costumer service sucks big time!!
In summary, if you want a VW, which is a great car, go to any other dealer in the tri-state area, they would treat you with more respect, not like these losers.

This is the WORST dealership, customer service and overall treatment of a customer I have ever experienced in my life. I used to go to Platinum Volkswagen in Hicksville, NY where I was treated as a person. I moved to Sunrise VW because I thought it would be easier as it was closer to my home. WORST mistake ever made. I've had two incidents where I needed some help and was treated with the utmost incompetence, disregard and disrespected. Sunrise has totally tarnished the VW experience for me as I can only associate the brand with this awful place. Unless you are willing to put up with abuse and being disrespected and even left stranded, stay away from Sunrise.

I've recently purchased a pre-owned VW Touareg 2013 with panoramic roof. What a pleasure! The entire process of buying that amazing car went so smoothly with Doudley our salesperson. He is so knowledgeable, patience and so kind. The previous owner was a smoker, so there was an issue which the VW service took immediate care of and washed the interior! They gave me a loaner car! What a PRO service!!! Can not thank you enough! The entire staff at Lynbrook VW is so professional.

I bought a GTI certified preowned in 2014. I knowingly overpaid, content with the warranty and "peace of mind" that I was purchasing from a dealer. The previous owner was a tech at Sunrise VW. He modified it heavily and then returned it to stock for resale.
1- the exhaust was pieced together with 4 different sections clamped together.
2- the rear hatch touches the bumper. Incorrectly repaired after an accident before CPO sale.
3- aftermarket audio system was removed and stock system reinstalled. They left all the wires from the aftermarket system hanging loose and disconnected behind body panels.
4- previous owner removed the runner flaps from the intake manifold.
5- Intake was broken and doesn't attach correctly.
6- headlight tabs were fully broken off on drivers side headlight.
7- heat shield over the turbo was never reinstalled after previous owner replaced exhaust
8- exhaust hanger is installed upside down.
All of these problems have been pointed out by other VW dealers that have worked on the car. 1.5 years after purchase, and I got yet another call TODAY when I dropped the car off for service about some new disaster the techs at Sunrise VW left behind.
Their solution? Take the 3 hour drive out to them so they could "take a look." What for?? It was all their poor work to begin with!
If you plan to buy a car certified preowned from this dealer, I would recommend paying for an independent inspection. At least have them put the car on a lift for you so you can inspect it yourself. Many of my problems are clearly visible when the car is on a lift, these techs just chose to ignore them.
