Sun Service Center

Definitely the best mechanic i have ever used. I started using Sun Service before they moved to this location. I would recommend Jim to anyone. Always honest and a job well done

20 years ago, when the owner of the Exxon station across the street from Sun retired, the owner referred me to Sun. I've been using their services regularly for the last 20 years. I bring both of our family cars, as well as my daughter's car, to Sun.
His service is timely, cost effective, and quality driven. I've never had a bad experience using Sun Service - never!
Jim is fair. In October, 2012, Sandy flooded a family car. I towed the car to Sun Service. Jim determined the engine could not be repaired - it would have to be replaced - then charged me nothing for that information.
I'll continue depending on Sun Service for maintenance and repairs until either he closes or our family stops driving cars.

yes i too believe that first review just doesn't sound like the place (Sun Service) i've known for all these years, he's always been honest and fair to me And as far as not being able to work on foreign cars i don't believe that neither,

I don't know what the previous reviewer was talking about. I've seen these guys work on everything from Subaru's to Cadillac's. I've taken my previous Volkswagen's to him & I currently take my Chevy there. I'm not going to say he's a specialist in any one field, but I'd suppose he would be better at domestic than foreign. That's not to say that they don't get the job done.

As far as him being honest or fair, if he wasn't my family wouldn't take their cars to him, nor most of the residents of Wood Ridge or Hasbrouck Heights. I have always found him to be both honest & fair, personally, & nothing but forthright about whatever the costs may be including labor & parts.

Coincidentally, I saw the previous review only because I had lost their card & Google'd their phone number. This came up & when I saw the poor review, I felt that the other side of the coin should be shown. I'm not affiliated with this establishment in any way & I've only gone to them a handful of times in the past, but again, they've always been forthright with me. I hopefully plan on taking my car there today, actually.

Most mechanics are well known for ripping people off. But the owner here is one of the worst of the bunch.

He mostly fixes Buick's and the likes and has no clue about Toyotas and Hondas. Worst he will tell you that your are un-patriotic because you do not buy American cars.

He will not give you written estimate and most likely will force you to sign the estimate after he has already generated the invoice. His attitude and his knowledge both are just terrible.

Avoid at all cost.
