This was my first experience of shabu-shabu, and I wasn't disappointed in it. Our server was very patient and pleasant, and for a Saturday, it wasn't very busy. I ordered the mixed seafood for my hot pot and my husband had the salmon dish. I wish I had known about the sauce bar, because the Tom yum broth wasn't spicy enough for me (maybe add that at the bottom of the shabu menu?) I also wasn't sure on what to do with my egg, it felt awkward peeling a hard boiled egg at a restaurant. Looking at all that broth tempted me to ask for some rice and make some porridge with the egg- next time.

Friendly staff, clean, and great food. I make a special trip here to queens when I visit Manhattan just for this little gem. Also the price is right, and you can wash it all down with a beer at the red Irish pub next door.

for the price this experience is unbeatable!! I chose the mild soup and spiced it exactly the way I wanted with their nice "buffet" of spices available. Ordered beef, pork, bacon and mushroom shabu dishes with extra basil. Completely satisfied. Stay away from the Ozeki nigori sake if u don't like sweet :)

This is a nice find in woodside and for the area it is actually pretty good, hence the four stars. But, if you are comparing it to other manhattan places it is just ok. They have shabu-shabu. You get a choice of your broth (vegetable, lemongrass, or basil) and then you get to choose a variety of different things to cook in this broth. The taste came out to be bland and not all that great.
We got chicken, bacon, dumpling combo and some veggies.
The place is cute. small. they bring the hot pot next to you. and set it up. They have other items on their menu. But, we did not try them.
