James S. T. Stanahan statue
As President of the Brooklyn Park Commission, Stranahan was instrumental in finding political and financial support for the building of Prospect Park. This statue by Frederick William MacMonnies was dedicated to him on June 6, 1891. MacMonnies also created the 3 bronze sculptural groups on the Solider & Sailors Arch in Grand Army Plaza.
