I have been using Stillwells for about 15 years. I have recommended them to friends and family. It's run the way garages used to be run - honest, quality work at a fair price. They are up to date with their technology and equipment. I bring my wife's new car there as well as my 10 year old pick up. They have never let me down. Thank you Stillwells for being a place I can trust.

I had an excellent experience with Stillwell Garage when my car was damaged by debris on the road and will use them again. They were professional and finished the car within the time they stated. They also provided advice re the replacement parts. They also fixed two unrelated issues with my car at no additional cost. I highly recommend them.

Full disclosure: I'm writing this not based on any services provided by the guys at Stillwell. I am, however, writing this based on a call I had with Mike a few days ago.

I needed an inspection on a car I was looking at buying. Everyone I called in the Matawan area came off as brash, with little time for me or my call about needing service from them. That's when I dialed up Stillwell. Mike answered, and took probably ten minutes from his day to talk with me about inspections and the like. I needed someone to come to the place where the car was, and, unfortunately, Mike said they weren't able to do that. He was willing to slot me in during the next business day for a quick inspection on the pretenses that he'd rather do it where he had more time to be very thorough. Unfortunately, my timetable didn't allow me the luxury of waiting a couple of days to get it done, but if I was able, I'd have taken it to Stillwell without hesitation.

The best part: Despite not scheduling anything with them, he still took the time to help me locate someone who would come out and do the inspection.

If that's not the definition of good customer service, I don't know what is.

Apparently we put our good words for these guys way too soon. They turned out to be the biggest
liar and thief in Matawan.
We gave them a try when the fan was making the noise one day. We were told that the fan clutch needed to be replaced, and we paid more than $400 for labor and the part that is not even original Mercedez part (only did we find out that they lied to us they get the ORIGINAL Mercedez part from their vendor). [they also later replaced the brake pads which make the squeaking noise every time we step on the brake. they ignored our complaint and told us that the noise was normal]
When we told them that the car was heating up pretty quickly to above 100 degree (not long after the fan clutch was put in), we were told again that was normal. Until in May the coolant started pouring down, and the temperature stayed on way high up there, we again drove the car to have them look at. This time we were told the radiator broke and it would cost us more than $700 to get that replaced. We were not sure whether the radiator would really fix the problem, so we decided to let it be (we gave up on the car). Over the weekend, our neighbor offered help and took a look at the car, and found out the fan IS NOT EVEN ROTATING. Apparently the fan clutch was not installed properly, and the heat has led to the coolant leak. We brought our car back to the Garage since we have the warranty on the fan clutch. We called later and were told that the car must have hit something that bended the radiator which caused the leak. Even though they could put a new fan clutch in, since that part was bended, it will still have the coolant leak. After we told them that we HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR EVER SINCE (the car has no coolant left and would heat up in a second), they kept saying that "some where along the line, the car must have hit something and caused the damage, therefore they can't do anything about it". We were in total disbelief. They didn't do the right thing by us in the first place (if there were some other parts that caused the noise they should have found out and told us in the very beginning), they didn't want to honor the warranty that we were eligible for, nor did they want refund our money.
My advice to anyone looking for a good, reliable, trustworthy auto repair shop, please look somewhere else. Learn from our mistake. Do not trust them. They are nothing but liar and thief!!!
We would have rated them EXTREMELY POOR if there were such rating for us to choose.
