Staten Island University Hospital

I was brought in through the ER, which wasn't bad. I was seen quickly and taken care of. Unfortunately I was admitted. Here is where all the problems occurred. Some of the nurses here have no business working with sick people! 2 of the nurses and 2 nursing assistants were absolutely horrible! I was there due to breathing problems and these women treated me so terribly, with pure contempt, disrespect, zero compassion, they mocked me, laughed in my face and thought the fact that I was reporting them was hysterical. The way the treated me exacerbated my breathing problems! They actually made me so stressed that my breathing got worse. I reported these women numerous times, however I do not feel much was done by the ADN. Because I was still treated horribly. I have at this point retained an attorney. And I will take this as far as I can to ensure no one else is treated like I was. Shame on all of them!
I must mention that I did have 3 nurses that were wonderful. If you can, please avoid this hospital. My health was actually threatened while I was there.

I am at the hospital almost every week at the blood center and have frequented the ER a number of times. Recently I was admitted and spent almost a week there. Their staff is top-notch, professional and caring. I would not go anywhere else in the event of an emergency. I trust them enough to trust them with my life and what better is there to say about a hospital?

They take care of you first, then worry about the paperwork. I love this change.

3 hour wait and they wouldn't give me my x rays.
Please if you can go some where else.
The doctor was very unprofessional and was in the front smoking cigarettes when I left. Its funny because they have signs all over saying they are a smoke free hospital. while their whole staff are chain smokers.
