Best gym in the Bronx for sure

Clean ,great equipment.,hardcore gym ,not for softees.....just hardworking trainning.....not a place to socialize,Just put in the work....very good for hardbodies....be ready to work hard or go home.

Not what it used to be--old, broken-down equipment, mean gym members and dirty:read on for more!

Star Fitness used to be a great place to work out and get in great shape-- BUT NOT ANYMORE. What happened, you may ask? It started when management just didn't care anymore. They were letting people manhandle the equipment (downright breaking barbells and dumbbells), not supervising employees and thus everything fell apart. The first thing you will notice is just how filthy the restrooms are! Next, when you start to use the cable pulleys or free weights, you'll start to see the damage an instability of the equipment. Not only does this make for an unnatural feel but it is also dangerous as the equipment can fall on you. Speaking of death trap, the squat cage in the rear is completely broken down and the safety mechanisms are none existent--I saw someone seriously injure themselves when doing heavy squats and could not rely on the safety bars. Upstairs is their cardio equipment, which is in serious need of cleaning and maintenance. Their Upright bikes do not work at all and are missing parts! And lastly, their infamous yoga room. It smells of sweat and death-- and lets not forget their stained and sweaty yoga mats! If you want to lose weight all the wrong ways (by vomiting) Star fitness is the place to do it.

Just say "NO" to Star Fitness--They are not the only Gym in town and there are better options nowadays.
