St Joan of Arc is an excellent school that reinforced the structure and respect, that we teach our children as well as a love for reading, math, and science. The school is like a big family. The principal is always willing to listen and help. Mrs. Costello and Ms. Wasser are great teachers who taught my son many valuable lessons. The PTA goes out of their way to schedule great parties for the children. The after-school program is available until 7pm, if you ever need it, all you have to do is call. It is with great sadness that my wife and I said good-bye to St. Joan of Arc because we moved to the suburbs this summer. We are now in a beautiful neighborhood and in a top school district but the work that our children are doing in their new school is what they already learned at St Joan of Arc last year! We will miss this great school.

- Very Good #61320
St. Joan of Arc is a terrific grade school located in Jackson Heights. The administration does wonders with its academics on a limited financial budget. Classrooms are bright, lively and well organized. The majority of the school’s teaching staff is very experienced, dedicated and responsible. The teachers, particularly in the lower grades, are very loving and nurturing with their students. The school provides an environment that fosters community and allows students to develop into responsible and socially conscious citizens through its religious education program. While it is a financial sacrifice for our family to pay tuition at St. Joan of Arc, we do so gladly because we believe it will provide the best education for our children.

Is it a perfect school? No—but what school is? The real question is whether the staff works continually to better the education of its students. And to that question the answer is an emphatic yes.

St. Joan of Arc is an excellent choice for parents looking for a high-quality local school in a neighborhood with limited educational options. Our family looks forward to what additional improvements are in store for St. Joan of Arc as it converts over to the academy system by 2017.

I have always found the teachers to be genuinely caring, concerned and dedicated to the education and well being of their students. SJA has an excellent Early Childhood Program. I have had three children go through PK and K and come out very happy at the end of each day. A high skill level is taught and required; both teachers and students work hard to achieve this. I have a lot of confidence in the education provided at SJA, and the school has the graduates to prove it. A great number go on to attend highly prestigious schools. Another positive thing about the school is the principal who will stop what he is doing to give a personal tour of the school. He is very amiable and will thoroughly explain the school's education system. Please stop by SJA any time during the school day and see how the school is run. You are sure to be impressed with the respect and attention the students have while you walk around observing classes.

this school is really bad the teachers simply dont know how to handle the children behavioral wise and teacher wise all they do is give out worksheets and expect the children to know it and if you ask for help your yelled at and told to ask your partner knowing that your partner is going through the same problem the children aren't taught algebra until the 8th grade the children are suffering academically i honestly dont know how they got that blue ribbon award the kids are constantly being yelled at and the principal and staff only care about squeezing money out the parents and CHILDREN all the teachers their don't even have a degree in the subject their teaching in it really is a horrible school kids get in trouble for the simplest things without even knowing what even happened the teacchers hate going tot work everyday and take it out on the kids alll the eachers talk about is the gossip going on in the school ,90% of the staff isnt even catholic and i thinks its ridiculous thst the children have to pay almost double if there not catholic and treated SSOOOO DIFFERENT THEY CANT GO TO CERTAIN ACTIVITIES and looked at as a alien public schools are honestly better because they actually carea bout the students and their school and honestly love going to work and have a degree and know how to teach children
