South Shore Eyecare

The office is pretty crowded and seems chaotic, but the doctors are very friendly. I first went with my younger brother, and sat with him during his examination & liked the doctor so much that I decided to go back for my own checkup. The doctor was very kind, and when he noticed my disappointment about finding out I have astigmatism (meaning I may not be able to get a military job, a plan of mine), he sat with me and discussed possible options and calmed my nerves. He even offered to write a letter stating the level of my astigmatism should not be a problem, and even searched the military's site to see their requirements.
I was not pressured into buying new glasses (as my prescription would only be changed slightly & so it was really unnecessary) even though my current ones are over a year old and leaking glue. Most places try to give you a run for your money, this place didn't.
Also I like the second little waiting room with the TV constantly playing things that have to do with eye care, occasionally it's some funny game show type of scene which is entertaining.

Dr. Gelfond is terrific! We are so happy we found South Shore Eyecare.

Everyone was so friendly from the moment we walk in the door until we walked out. The staff is wonderful. The staff are all knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Dr.Alla Zlatino was excellent. The visit was very thorough. She was very patient and attentive.I highly recommend her as an eye doctor.

Myself and my family have been patients at South Shore Eyecare for years. Our experience has always been excellent. My son had vision therapy there as an adolescent and did very well with Dr. Gelfond;13 years later he still goes to her for routine eyecare. They have a friendly and accommodating clerical staff,and the physicians are patient, understanding and professional.

I am extremely pleased with the service me and my family receive when we come for a visit. Everyone is friendly from the moment we walk in the door until we are walking out. I always feel that the staff and the doctor do a very thorough job of testing and diagnosing any issues. Whenever anyone is looking for an eye doctor I always recommend South Shore Eye Associates! Dr. Helfand is amazing for both kids and adults.
