South Nassau Wound Care Center

In July of 2015, a reoccurring problem with my legs from splinters from a dock (treated wood had arsnic pressure treated in it) causing ulcers. I was sent to a dermatologist, and the cream treatment caused my legs to swell, ooze, and eventually burst open. After 11 days in the hospital (South Nassau Communities) I was referred to Dr Friedman at the wound clinic. I could not have been treated better anywhere. My condition was resolved after many small "surgery's", and the care by his "angels" (nurses) was the best. I highly recommend the facility, and the care I received.

I burned my left foot very badly on March 8th when I spilled boiling water on it. I first went to an Urgent care center by my home where they put some Silver Sulfadiazine on it, wrapped it up & prescribed Antibiotics. I went back again for a wound check & then they told me to go to see a wound care specialist. I wound up going to the So. Nassau Wound Care center on March 18th where I was treated by a Doctor Steven Friedman. He looked at it briefly & said stop using the Silver Sulfadiazine & just moisturize it a lot. I asked about the antibiotics & he just said finish what I have (4) & come back in a week. The following Wednesday I went to see him and he just glanced at it, said there is nothing more he could do, just keep moisturizing it & he discharged me from his care. On Friday March 27th I had a regular appointment with my own doctor. He took one look at my foot & said it was infected. He told me to put Bacitracin on it 4 times a day & gave me more antibiotics. I had a second degree burn all over my foot, it was as red as a tomato & this idiot Dr. Friedman is telling me to moisturize! Thank God I had to see my own doctor. I don't think Doctor Friedman gave me any kind of wound care. He should have been telling me to moisturize with Bacitracin & put me back on antibiotics. Instead he just blew me off like this was a minor injury. I wouldn't use him again if my life depended on it.
