Rediscovered this amazingly intimate, perfect winter bar the other night after some years absence. Easily one of the most lovingly designed, narratively layered interiors of any in the city. Recognizing the superior quality of the bar tending service here, Smith & Mills now joins my pantheon of other cherished downtown bars like Little Branch and Fig. 19.

Smith and Mills is a small but cozy place to go to. They do not have many food options, but all their food is really tasty. This place is great for an intimate date or happy hour!

The most character you'll find in a bar this small! The place is packed in the evenings with very hip crowd, but still cozy enough to sit in the corner and have a drink. The small, vintage bathroom with the fold up sink is epic and photo worthy. During the day, it's a great place for a coffee or a light snack and is hidden enough to never be crowded.

Good food but if you don't order any you will be asked to leave. Has happened twice now. Last time we had just finished eating and they asked us to leave. They have a shift change and the staff want their tips so our waitress cashed us out and the new one told us to leave. They want $$$$ and that's all they care about. Apart from the food guy he's cool he just makes great food.
