Slave To the Grind

Bronxville is a mellow little town. I like this coffee shop. Can't go wrong with it.

I don't write reviews after a single visit anywhere. I've gone to Slave to the Grind several times, and this place is the epitome of "hit or miss", depending on the barista. The last time I was there the I ordered an Iced Soy Latte and it was a disaster. I probably would have been better off going to Starbucks, which pains me to say.

I'm not familiar with any of the other coffee houses in lower westchester, but Slave to the Grind is a distant third when compared to quality roasters like Coffee Labs (Tarrytown) and Black Cow (Pleasantville).

Great coffee and ambiance. The fact that it is still in business with Starbucks close by speaks volumes as to how good it is.

Nice atmosphere, but the wifi is impossible to connect to. Maybe they make it hard to limit people working here too long. ;-)

Great place, I enjoy having a properly tamped espresso. However, sometimes the barista's hand me luke warm, watery drinks, signaling to me that they didn't steam my milk long enough. They have an assortment of different syrup flavors, but the bottles are off to the side and are difficult to read; I have looked for a list and there is none. I think this would really help them and potentially speed up the process of ordering. Lastly, there is no sign that says when you're ordering milk other than whole (like skim or soy) they charge you extra/how much extra, and no sign letting me know that if I use a credit/debit card they charge .25 cents extra. Not that I mind but some people do and it would be nice for a heads up.

Overall nice place and I'm glad there's a fresh coffee place in lower Westchester.
