The sideshow is a lot of fun, and the people who work at it seem to enjoy what they do. When I went there, there was Chuy the wolf man, the host with a great mustache who hammers nails into his face, a fire eater, and Serpentina (a lady who dances with snakes, among other things). I recommend going on the Cyclone, having a couple of drinks, and wandering over to the Sideshow - a good way to spend a day!

This is one of THE BEST things to see in New York. We live a bit upstate and always come down at least once a year to walk around Coney Island and see the sideshow. The performers are top notch and over the years they have done a lot to make the theater look nice as well. This is true performance art and well worth the $10 to get in.

It took me over 20 years to finally step inside and it was a blast!
The sideshows rotate, but from what I've heard, are always great.
You enter after paying a fee (and buying a drink if you'd like) and sit on wooden benches. There's nothing like it! And be sure to sit up close to you can be part of the show!
