I’ve been a Sam’s customer since I started my practice in 1996. I’ve always found their clothes to be quality garments and flattering. Furthermore, Maurice, Jeff, Richie and Buddy have always been able to put outfits together that work well for me and that ability is their advantage over other similar stores or department stores. Over the past couple of years, I gotten some custom made shirts from Sams and those are easily the nicest shirts in my wardrobe. Finally, if you like old jokes, Maurice seems to have an endless supply. I give Sams five stars.

As a graduation present for my son, I purchased him a professional wardrobe at Sam's. One of the suits purchased developed two tears in the pants after being worn approximately two dozen times. We returned to Sam's, and they kindly fixed the tears. However, it happened again and again and again. I have learned from my tailor that in her opinion, they did not fix it properly, hence the recurring problem. This went on for six months. There were no problems with any of the other clothes purchased for my son at the same time. I don't know if there was a defect in this pair of pants, or if the constant re sewing at the same spot weakened and stretched the material. I suggested that they order a new pair of pants and sell them to me at cost. This very fair resolution of the problem was adamantly refused by Maurice (one of the owners). I became (politely) insistent. At one point, he started screaming at me and began reaching over the counter with his fact in mine. I don't know what would have happened if his staff hadn't interceded. I have never been so rudely treated in a store. They finally sent the pants back to the manufacturer, and he said that the pants were damaged due to excessive wear. I find this statement ridiculous as he has only had the pants for 7 months. The suit was worn maybe once or twice a week, and some weeks not at all due to being mended at Sam's. When I got the pants back, there was a new hole in the seat of the pants. The only remedy they offered to this problem is for me to pay full retail of $185 for a new pair of pants. I could buy a whole suit at Macy's for $239. The reason I am posting this review is more about the way they treated me as a customer that the lack of resolution of this problem. I saw no evidence of the quality service that Sam's claims sets it apart from the less expensive stores.
